Surprisingly Uncomfortable

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Size Bought:
44.5
Weight:
165

My feet are 43.5 left and 44.5 right so not perfectly symmetrical. I normally wear a Sidi shoe as I have long, thin feet with a normal arch. When I put on these shoes they immediately felt odd and uncomfortable; specifically, the arch felt much too far forward toward the ball of the foot. I slipped in my Specialized inserts to see if that would make a difference and it just exacerbated the uncomfortable feeling. I then took out my inserts and lined them up with the bottom of the shoe and it's clear that the mold of the shoe has the highest part of the arch at least 1 cm further forward toward the ball of the foot so that it puts pressure on that area rather than supporting the arch of the foot. The shoe is probably great if you have long feet with stubby toes but I can't imagine how my feet would feel after even a short ride; no less when riding 150- 180 miles in the saddle day after day. Try them for yourself but I couldn't recommend these shoes.
