As purveyors of some of the planet's best running and cross-country ski gear, Sweden's Craft brand has vast experience on which to draw in designing products for its range of cycling apparel, too, and the Craft Bike Tech Jacket is a great example of this.
The Bike Tech Jacket's greatness starts with the appropriate cut — a cycling-specific fit, with the details to make it work, too. Contoured shoulders for the riding position make sure your reach is comfortable, and a silicone tail hem gripper keeps the thing in place. The jacket is not insulated, so you'll want to layer underneath appropriately if you're heading out into temperatures in the 30s or below, but that's not to suggest the Bike Tech jacket isn't protective. It's made of a fantastic material called eVent, a fabric that's waterproof and windproof in even the harshest conditions, with a stretchable outer shell material called Ventair X Wind on the outside. The combination is virtually element-proof, and all panels are seam-taped, but the jacket is also incredibly breathable to ensure you don't overheat or get too sweaty if the pace picks up as the rains come down, thanks in part to a superlight mesh liner used on the interior of the sleeves. Four rear pockets (three open and one zippered) are handy for all your essentials, and there are reflective elements all over the jacket to ensure you stay visible at night.
The Craft Bike Tech Jacket is available in the color scheme Black/bright red only, and in five sizes, from Small to XX-Large.
