OK, you've just shelled out for your new slice of heaven, a Chris King bottom bracket. Just like the headsets, they come in an array of dazzling anodized colors. Do you really want to torque them into your frame with that half-rusty, stamped steel Shimano external cup wrench? We thought not. What you'll want is a Chris King External Bottom Bracket Cup Tool.
The Chris King Cup Tool is a special aluminum socket, CNC machined to be an uber-precise counterpart to your luscious anodized cups. Using it will ensure an optimum tool/part contact and eliminate the possibility of marred or worse, stripped, splines on your bottom bracket cups. It's designed to be used with a 3/8" drive ratchet or better, a torque wrench. Although Chris King makes it specifically for their bottom brackets, we all know that you can use it for any external bearing cups that work with 24mm crank spindles. Show your bike some love!
