Description

Unlimited Short Sleeve Jersey

Road cycling seems thoroughly undone by the popularity of gravel, every brand trying to out-gimmick one another with off-road-specific gadgets and gizmos. Castelli bucks that trend with the Unlimited Range, designed to simply work for where and how we ride: not bound to one surface or one style, but rather to the thrill of going fast and chasing daylight. The Unlimited Jersey takes the fit and features we love of a classic Castelli jersey and uses a more resilient fabric to better handle snags from branches as we try our hand at drop-bar singletrack.

Castelli uses a polyester knit for the main body of the jersey, which helps to wick sweat to keep you cool and has excellent freedom of movement for all your creative off-road maneuvering. The shoulders and sleeves feature even more durable fabric since we’re more exposed to brambles at the shoulder than our torso. On the back, three spacious pockets keep extra layers and fuel within easy reach, while a side-zippered pocket makes sure we won’t have to backtrack to find a lost key.

  • A versatile jersey for all-road all-day riding
  • Main body fabric is durable and breathable to keep you comfortable
  • Sleeves and shoulder use more resilient woven fabric to resist snags
  • 3 rear pockets keep layers and fuel conveniently stores
  • Side zippered pocket secures key or wallet

How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Chest:
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
Waist:
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Hip:
Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
Inseam:
Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.

Nice Gravel Jersey But Waaay Too Long

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

Runs large

I like Castelli's attempt at creating something that appeals to (some?) gravel riders better than race-inspired loud & logo-crazy road jerseys or baggy moto-inspired MTB stuff. The styling is subtle but not boring and the colors are more about blending in than being seen. The fit is a nice mix of a gravel-friendly, slightly-relaxed body (despite Castelli calling it "form-fit") with race-fit long and snug arms that are not overly constraining (which are perfect for me even though I have pencil-thin arms). The mix of materials is a bit odd. The body feels too heavy for good moisture/thermal management . OTOH I love the thinner/stretchy lycra-like material used for the sleeves/shoulders/sides which is more substantial-feeling than that used in many race jerseys (so it probably won't stretch out and pucker after a few uses). BUT THERE'S ONE DEAL BREAKER: the jersey is at least 3" longer than any oad jersey I own. This is strange for a sz. Small since it shouldn’t be longer than my mostly sz. Medium race-fit road jerseys (which give my skinny body the slightly-relaxed fit I prefer). Once I fill the rear pockets with a bunch of stuff the jersey will undoubtedly get snagged on the saddle's nose. This overly long fit also causes the zipper to form into funny-looking waves (I think the previous reviewer had the same problem but called the look a "nipple"). Castelli makes no mention of the longer fit (nor whether there's an advantage to it) so I have to assume that this is a design or manufacturing mistake rather than an intended feature. I'd give this jersey 2 stars for the results but am adding an additional star given the effort to make something more "gravel friendly".

It’s more of a relaxed fit however the front seam for the zipper bends by itself and I can’t seem to flatten it out. It looks like I have a nipple sticking out @ the middle of my chest. Sincerely, didn’t like design for the price. Material is not too comfy either. I’m usually a large but had to purchase this in XXL
