Breathable jacket

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:
Medium
Weight:
150

I needed a packable cool weather jacket that wasn't like a trash bag. Castelli did a great job with this one. The jacket has a mesh fabric under the arms and into the armpits that allows a little air exchange giving this jacket nice breathability. This makes it great for me for temps into the high 30's. Any temps lower and I'd go for something heavier. It packs up into half a jersey pocket space no problem. Finally, this is a Castelli product so the fit is tight. I'm 6' and 150 lbs. A medium fit perfectly when I usually get small. Buyers probably should size up.

ultra-light wind/drizzle protection

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Size Bought:
L

Does what it's designed for. Easily stowed in jersey pocket. Keeps chill wind or light drizzle out. Snug fit, so follow the size chart. 5'8" 147lbs: size L works for me.

Incredibly light

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:
small and medium
Height:
5' 8"
Weight:
145

I am 5'8", 145 lbs, and initially bought a size small. When standing, it seems like it is a bit too tight, but on the bike, in the riding position, it feels right. The stretch panels are key - without these, I think it would be too tight, and I would probably split the fabric somewhere. It does not flap around in the wind. It does a good job of blocking the wind. I have not tried it in the rain yet. The hi-viz yellow color really stands out against the winter landscape. It packs incredibly small into a jersey pocket. A downside to the body-hugging fit is it is hard to access my jersey pockets. Sometimes I will ride with the jacket pulled up above the pocket line for this reason. After I bought it, it went on sale at a great discount, so I bought another, this time in size medium. Now, on some rides, I bring both. I can put the medium on over the small, and have an extra layer. Plus, the medium fits better for me for mountain bike rides when I wear elbow pads. I weighed both sizes, and was surprised to see they weighed the same: 108 grams, or 3.8 ounces each. For rides colder than the low 40's F, I would opt for a Polartec-fleece type of jacket over these.

Tailored Fit

Familiarity:

Size Bought:
Medium

This worked very well layered over a Castelli Perfetto ROS long-sleeve jersey. I like the stretchy fabric for some mobility. I went with a medium but I normally wear a small. European styles run small but if you take your measurements and compare them to the sizing chart you'll get the correct size. I used it once on a cloudy and drizzly ride in low-mid 60ºF and it worked perfectly. It wasn't a hard ride and our group did hang out for a bit post-ride, I never felt really cold. It's really light and if I needed to remove it, it can be folded/compressed to fit in a rear jersey pocket.

Awesome; Just Make Sure You Size Up

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Size Bought:
XL
Weight:
165

The jacket is very packable and extremely stretchy. I have learned to check the size chart anytime I am buying gear and the Castelli size chart was spot on for me. I wear a medium in almost everything (I prefer a snug fit) but with Castelli I go for an extra large. I am 6 foot and weigh 165 lbs. with a muscular build. When I received the jacket I was on the fence, it was pretty darn snug through the arms even as an extra large. But after riding with it on I am very pleased, it is extremely stretchy and the fit prevents most (not all) wind flapping. I would confidently recommend the jacket just make sure to check the size chart! Also, it is a great value for the money!

Versatile, Simple Protection

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:
XL
Height:
5' 8"
Weight:
143

This jacket does exactly what it claims to do--provide that last layer of protection over your normal cycling clothing. It's great on those cool days when you just don't know if you're wearing enough or it's supposed to warm up, and it's wonderful over heavier, fall/winter jerseys to provide that last touch of protection and a bit more warmth. It compacts tightly so easy to put in your pocket and it fits nicely. I had to go up 2 sizes to get the right fit (from M to XL) for my shoulders and because I don't like things skin tight. Simple, clean, effective design.

BEWARE! Sizing way under!

Size Bought:
M
Height:
5' 10"
Weight:
170

Seems like a nice super lightweight wind shell. BUT I'm usually a medium and could barely get this on or zip it, let alone move, wear much under, or put anything in a pocket. Actually checked it wasn't a women's it was so small. Returning, and not taking another chance on another size.

Nice Jacket

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:
XL
Height:
5' 11"
Weight:
178

As many of the reviews says, this comes very reduced in size, I am 5,11 and weight 178 and I usually use M or L, on this one I ordered XL and fits good, it is stretch. Color is semitransparent allowing to see the color of what you're using under. It really helps to keep you warm on chill days and if is getting warmer you can easily put it in your rear pocket. Only thing I didn't like is that it does not have any pockets. I do recommend this jacket but just keep it mind that you need to go two sizes up just to be safe that is going to fit. Ivan V.

So small and so tight, it's impractical.

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it
Size Bought:
XL
Weight:
180

This jacket appears to be well made - and even though I measured twice and purchased one size up just to be safe (size XL) - IT WAS SKIN TIGHT and restricted arm movement. So tight, in fact, that if you put the jacket on you couldn't have anything else in your jersey pockets, because the jacket would not fit over anything bulkier than a belgian waffle or a gel packet. And those would be almost impossible to reach, because the jacket's snug fit restricted arm movement. It "might" work as a racing jacket where you're able to get feeds and extra clothing from a support car, but otherwise, it's wildly impractical to the point of being useless. Returned.
