Superleggera 2 Jersey
Inspired by the towering mountain passes and dizzying switchbacks along Switzerland's awe-inspiring Flüela Pass, Castelli's Superleggera 2 Jersey was designed as a lightweight, everyday jersey that inherits much of the same technology as Castelli's pro race jerseys. A few functional details added to the Superleggera make it suitable for warm weather training and climb-heavy routes.
Castelli strove to make this jersey as light as possible, without sacrificing the fabric strength and jersey features. To do this, Castelli constructed the body and sleeves with their new Oltre 70g mesh base fabric that adeptly draws moisture away from your body as you ride. The fit is cut close to the body but a bit more relaxed than Castelli’s race-cut jersey to better enhance air flow through the fabric.
In pro race kit, details like a zippered security pocket, top zipper protection, and gripper elastic around the waist aren't essential, but Castelli adds these finishing touches to the Superleggera for comfort and convenience during everyday rides. The pocket panel uses a stretch woven fabric for greater strength to support loaded pockets for all-day rides.
- Lightweight jersey for warm weather and climb-heavy rides
- Breathable Oltre 70g fabric wicks moisture to keep you cool
- Close fit is slightly looser than race-cut for more freedom of movement
- 3 pockets with side zippered key pocket keep essentials close at hand
- No-sew lie-flat seams prevent chafing and boost elegance

I have a love/hate thing with Castelli. The style is always great, but the products themselves can be hit or miss; the inconsistent sizing across the line doesn't help, either. So far, however, I love this jersey. I got it as a special "super hot weather/long ride" jersey, not an everyday jersey. The fabric is so light that it is sheer, but it still manages to fit well and have some substance, if that makes any sense. The fabric appears similar to, though more densely woven, the material Castelli uses for the bib straps of the Free Aero Race 4 bibshorts. The fit is close to the body, and relatively short in the torso, but with modern long-ish sleeves, which I like a lot. Although the fit is close, it is not a "compressive" fit or material, so I feel the look is flattering. The pockets are slightly smaller than my usual jerseys (a mix of Assos mille and Giordana), but still securely hold my necessities, including a Silca Eolo wallet (with spare tube, patches, mini-tool, inflator and cartridges, and micro-pump) and an iPhone XR. I also appreciate very much the zippered rear pocket, which can hold keys safely (a really nice feature that is sadly disappearing from many jerseys). In hot weather, the jersey is so light it almost disappears and both wicks and evaporates sweat extremely well. I have a Santini "Stile" jersey, which just holds the sweat against my torso, where it clammily sticks to me -- definitely no such problems with this Castelli Superleggera 2 jersey. Like most Castelli gear, the jersey looks good, and I get compliments on it. The one wild card is durability. My past Castelli gear has been hit or miss in terms of durability, and the extremely light weight/thinness of the fabric used in this jersey raises some concerns (no problems so far, after several uses/washes). However, I intend to use this jersey only on the hottest days and longer rides, which both is its raison d'etre, and should help it last longer. For its intended use, a definite five star in my book.

Depending on color, the availability of sizes is significantly different at competitive cyclist and even at Castelli. Was this product produced in all colors at all sizes?
