It's That Time of Year Again.

From high-alpine singletrack in the nearby mountains to infamous slickrock riding just outside of Moab, the CamelBak Mule Hydration Pack is designed to make your annual mountain biking pilgrimage a little sweeter. Big enough to carry 3-liters of water and a day's worth of snacks and gear, the Mule hits the perfect balance between size and storage.

Built around the new Crux reservoir, this pack is designed to keep you hydrated and working at peak performance. Can you verify the size of the pack? Is this smaller than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high.

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

This was an awesome gift for my father for his birthday. It hold a considerable amount of water, but is still small enough that it doesn't feel like a real backpack. Kudos for Backcountry as well for providing the great customer service and helping me pick out the perfect backpack for him.

Best Bak

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Holds a nice amount of water and is very comfortable. I love it. I can go for a 3 to 4 hour mtb ride.

Gets the job done

Camelbak always delivers, the size I think is ok for hiking and trying to bring just what you need

Great daypack

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Got this for a gift for my dad, who is 6'3" and 210lbs, and he loves this as a daypack! He can fit a couple extra layers in it with a full bladder and it is still comfortable to wear! The only issue he has with it is that the bladder will freeze on colder days.

Real Nice

Gave this as a gift. They loved the color, size and durability. Perfect for a day hike or taking on a bike ride.

Classic Camelbak

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

You will likely never wear out a Camelbak. In the last 20 years I have been mountain biking I have had two Camelbak's and the only reason I bought the second was because I was bored with my old one. The Mule is the perfect size for most mountain biking scenarios unless you are carrying all of the tools and gear for a sizeable group, the Mule can handle it.

I love the 100-ounce reservoir and prefer having too much water, or just underfilling the reservoir for shorter rides. I find that any time I am riding for more than 2 hours I reach for the Mule. Camelbak does a great job, the Mule is very comfortable and the internal organization is nice and thoughtful. I have had such amazing experiences with Camelbak that I cannot think of a reason to go with anything else for packs.

You can feel the quality!

I gave this as a gift for Christmas. In a short time, I checked it out it was pretty awesome! Durable, fancy, and high quality!

great little pack

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

truth is i can shove quite a bit of stuff into this little bag, but it is little . i'm super happy with my purchase

Mule 12l

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great hydration pack! Works perfect for my everyday mountain bike trips and even has enough storage ability for those all day to two trips. Can't go wrong with the Camelbak products. Would definitely buy again.

Great Pack, Great Colors

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Gave this as a gift to my sister. She loves the color (sulfur springs) and the updated bladder and mouthpiece. She uses it for medium length hikes and says it fits well and works great.

works well

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Finally used this a few times. No leaks, and holds water, and that is what I bought it for! Perfect size and not too bulky. Great for a quick day hike or mountain biking. Enough room in the pack to fit a snack, cell phone, and a light rain jacket.

Perfect Pack

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I initially bought this for a long day hike at high elevations. The 3L reservoir was plenty for all 12 miles, and the sizes and variety of pockets really helped me keep things organized for my first time using it. I was able to stow a pair of long pants, light jacket, my lunch and snacks, as well as some essentials. I have since used this on many day hikes and on some long bike rides, and it is my go-to pack for outdoor activities when a single water bottle just won't cut it. I've managed to get a couple of small holes on the exterior where I've scraped rocks getting up, down, and through slot canyons, but the rip-stop fabric has kept these from spreading. The pack has worn well for the two years I've used it and stands up to washing on the gentle cycle when it gets grimy. I'd definitely buy another when this wears out!

Stands the Test of Time!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This pack will stand the toughest conditions you can. Been using this pack for around 5 years. Used it when I ran tubes and now when running tubeless on my bike. Will say that it is very comfortable when using tubeless because there is ample room for your tools, snacks for longer rides, and room for a jacket when you need it. Keep in mind this was an older version so the breathability isn't as good as today's pack but I never felt like I was overheating. The pack is durable as all hell. When the time comes for a new pack I will definitely purchase another camelbak!
