No lifts in sight.

Not everyone shuttles or rides a lift to get to their favorite ribbon of singletrack. For the unfortunate many who have to pedal uphill, a padded insert isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity. The Alpinestars Drop 2 Short comes with a removable chamois that you’ll be thankful for from the moment you swing your leg over your all-mountain rig. Because it’s removable, you can also wear it with other shorts or jeans.

Alpinestars built the Drop 2 Shorts with strategically located stretch and vent panels. On the back and in the crotch, spandex panels stretch for an unlimited range of motion. This also adds to the shorts' durability, because it stretches rather than tearing. The synthetic fabric pulls moisture away from your body to keep you dry and comfortable, even in the heat of the summer. Alpinestars also added zippered mesh vents on the thighs that push hot, stale air out and allow fresh, cool air to flow in and around your body. Stretch ripstop reinforcements at the hem add durability.

A NOOSFERA removable liner with a chamois absorbs shock and vibration to reduce fatigue. It also manages moisture to keep you dry and comfortable. A seamless seat area increases comfort and eliminates chafing. The liner can also be worn with other shorts, so you can transform any of your other shorts into bike shorts. Alpinestars also included hook-and-loop waist adjustment straps that allow you to perfectly dial in your fit, and two flat side pockets and two deep front pockets provide comfortable, convenient, secure storage while you ride.

How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.

Great chamois but shorts quality sucks

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I ordered size 32, received size 30 for the shorts and 32 for the chamois/liner. Fortunately the shorts fitted to me.

Chamois/liner quality is amazing, very confortable. Despite it is true that it has no leg grips it wasn't a problem for me. This liner is one of the best I have ever used. I would buy it alone (without the shorts) if I could.

Now, the shorts quality realy sucks: no more than 15 days from received and the white letters printed on it over the pockets and the Alpinestars logo in the back started to fall apart only by washing them (acid yellow was the model I bought). Few weeks later the part of the shorts which is in contact with the saddle discoloured.

This shorts are very comfortable and the design (pockets, zippers, thightening system with velcro and colors) are just great, but with the quality issues I faced I wouldn't recommend it to anywone. For the price this quality doesn't worth it.

Great shorts, crappy liner

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 32

The shorts are a great fit and extremely comfortable. The thigh vents are easy to operate while riding and do a great job of cooling you down. Velcro cinches on the waist help get the fit perfect. The crotch is well designed and doesn't snag on the saddle while riding.

The only negative to these shorts is the liner. It has no leg grips and as such rides up and becomes extremely uncomfortable. I generally wear a pair of roadie shorts/bib under these for all-day comfort.

A little on the spendy side but well worth it, fit is great & comfortable all day!
