For most of us, it won't be sunny and 70 every time we head out the door to get in a pedal. Embrace the variety that makes every ride an adventure with Mavic's HC Vest.
The abbreviation HC stands for Hors Categorie, a climb that is so difficult it is ranked above all other climbs. True to its name, the HC Vest functions at a level above other riding vests. It was sewn from Warm Shell Rain ST. Much like the soft shell of a ski jacket, this fabric is not only wind resistant, it also helps to shed water to keep you dry. The HC Vest is, in fact, rated to 5000mm, which is high enough to keep drizzle or spray from drenching you. Additionally, the fabric is soft to the touch so you won't feel like you are wearing a crinkly, plastic garbage bag.
The Warm Shell Rain ST is joined with stretch panels to make the form fit of the vest still flexible and easy to move in. Additionally, mesh inserts help to vent excess heat so that you don't drown in your own sweat while trying to keep Mother Nature at bay. It features an elongated back for complete coverage. Perhaps the coolest detail is the Ergo Zip. With the Ergo Zip, the zipper is asymmetrical and offset to the side of your chin -- this reduces chafing.
A zip Napoleon pocket holds your phone or ID and a rear zip pocket is ideal for the rest of your riding essentials. Reflective highlights keep you visible when the sun goes down.
The Mavic HC Vest is available in sizes X-Small to X-Large and in two colors: Red/black and Black/folio.
