Spending for spring.
If every pedal stroke during training is a down payment that we'll later reap in racing form, then anything that gets us jazzed about training indoors during inclement weather, un-rideable winters, or inconvenient daily schedules is worth its weight in gold. Zwift's Sportcrafters Omnium Trainer Flexible Package is just that, designed to recreate the pleasure of socially competitive, outdoor cycling in your indoor training space any time you're able to turn the cranks.
The included Pioneer/Shimano Dura-Ace Power Meter Crankset measures watts across twelve force vectors per pedal stroke, so the data transmitted through the ANT+ hardware to Zwift's online training grounds propels your on-screen avatar according to precise readings of power output. The Sportcrafters Omnium Trainer is no less equal to the variable demands of the indoor crank nut, combining the dynamic feel of a rollers/rear wheel interface with the zone-out stability of a locked-in front axle.
The Omnium also features Sportcrafters' ARC Power Modulation, which ramps-up resistance in a progressive curve that mimics the feedback of outdoor cycling. ARC involves internal magnets that begin at the center of the drum and gradually drift toward the drum walls as you spin the rear wheel up, increasing resistance as you increase speed and fostering a tactile connection between your efforts and those of your Zwift persona.
