Don't hold back.
Realizing that speed shouldn't come at the expense of a comfortable fit and feel, Zoot designed its Women's Active Tri 8in Short to deliver streamlined efficiency while employing comfort-driven details.
Zoot strategically combined three synthetic blends to construct the body of the short, including its Endura+ fabric to give the shorts' main body a stretchy, supportive fit, as well as mesh inserts for improved breathability. Both fabrics dry rapidly, wicking moisture away from your skin consistently so you stay dry and comfortable during transitions, and they boast a UPF 50+ rating to help protect your skin on exposed, sunny courses. Finally, we like Zoot's choice to include a modesty liner in the short — tri kit is known for being skin-tight and unforgiving, and an extra layer lends some reassurance when transitioning from open water to dry land.
Zoot also pays close attention to construction on the Active Tri, using a double-inseam gusset to ensure the short achieves the right blend of flex and support, then trusting low-profile seaming, known as SeamLink, to join the fabric panels without the potential for chafing or irritation. A wide, supportive waistband complete with drawcord adjustment helps you dial in a secure fit, especially while stretched out over the handlebars on the bike leg, while two hip pockets provide you with extra room to store nutrition or other essentials.
Finally, for comfort on the bike leg and throughout the race, Zoot includes its Integra SBR 1D chamois and compressive BioWrap gripper-free hems, which grip without feeling sticky or irritating. The Integra chamois sports a minimalist construction with enough plushness for the saddle, with the flexibility to remain out of your way during the run and swim. Plus, Zoot ensures it's water-resistant and quick-drying, so you won't be racing soggy after T1.
