Knowing how the Yeti ARC Carbon C2 GX Eagle is the perfect trail bike is just as important as knowing our trails. We’ve been on the trail where we live, it’s rough, rooty, full of dust, and littered with features. We’ve also been down south where the trail is rocky and unrelenting, easily bottoming out the suspension on our 140/150 enduro bikes. Even though the ARC’s capabilities might somewhat rely on how limber we’re feeling that day, they don’t end there.
As tough and stiff as a park bike, but as slacked out and rideable as a trail bike, the ARC could be one of the only bikes we end up riding this year. Geometry is on point with the new ARC, as a 130mm fork mixed with a 67-degree head angle means we’re sending stuff normally reserved for our SB130. A 76-degree seat-tube angle means this bike is perfect for our local cross-country loops too. Put those angles together and it means our wrists don’t get too sore, and we can still put down the power on any extended climbs.
Don’t forget, this bike is a hardtail, and we prefer it that way. It’s no secret that hardtails make us better riders, forcing us to use our core to practice bike-body separation, and our legs to practice where to put the rear wheel. Hardtails are fun, too, they’ll make any trail seem a bit more tech, a bit rowdier, and make us work a little harder than we would on their full-suspension cousins. It’s not all about precision riding on the ARC, though, and with the 2.6in rear tire clearance, we have plenty of room to throw down on some proper chunder. The wider tires give us grip, stability, and with tire inserts we can air them down a little more for some well-earned relief.
*Due to unprecedented demand in the global supply chain and the bike industry over the last 18 months, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be minor. If you have any questions, reach out to a Gearhead by chatting online or calling 1-888-276-7130.
