Dispense justice.

Unruly trails need to be put in their place, and the WTB Vigilante TCS Tough HG 27.5in Tires are ready to lay down the law with rugged Gravity DNA rubber and a bombproof Enduro casing. Both fall on the tough end of WTB's spectrum — hence the name — so you'll be able to rip enduro, trail, and even a little bit of downhill without worrying about punctures.

The initialism "HG" means this particular version of the Vigilante was designed to deliver unparalleled grip, and its blocky open tread leaves no doubt as to how well it'll hang on when you lay it over in a corner. At 1,140g, it's definitely on the heavy end of the Vigilante scale, but that's the tradeoff you make with a tire this burly. It's also been endowed with WTB's tubless-ready TCS aramid bead, so you can run it however you want.

Rubber You Can Count On

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These are great tires -- I'm using the WTB Vigilante TCS Tough tire as my front, in conjunction with the Breakout 2.3 tire as the rear. I think this is a sweet combination because the Vigilante Tough HT provides high traction in the front, giving your bike a little more control for steering. The tires are both set up tubeless and mounted on a WTB i23 Wheelset. The setup was relatively straightforward -- though I did have to use an air compressor to seat the tires after struggling with a floor pump for about 30 minutes. A floor pump would work if that's all you have available, but an air compressor makes it much easier.

I'm looking forward to ripping these once the snow melts!

Overall great

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have a few hundred miles on this tire and it's been good. I have it mounted as a rear tire and have been happy with it in looser and soft conditions. It grips rocks and roots well even when wet, has consistent braking and a nice stiff sidewall. My biggest complaint is that like the other WTB tires I've used it was a lot tougher to mount tubeless then other tires. But once it's mounted it's been trouble free.

Great tire

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've switched over from Continental Tires to The WTB Vigilante and I'm impressed. It has a fairly low profile on narrow rims. It rolls well on hard pack trail and handles great in the corners. I've run the tire on the rear, but wouldn't have any issues running the tire front and back. I've just used the tire during the dry summer conditions, so I can't say how the tire handles wet or muddy trail conditions.

Great Front Tire!!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have used this tire on previous bikes, and it never fails to disappoint. I am using it as a front tire on my 2015 Santa Cruz Bronson. It is a fairly narrow 2.3 tire, so be aware of that, you may want to run a 2.25 in the rear to balance out the wheels. This tire never seems to slide out, no matter how loose the terrain. I had a different tire on the front for a few rides and it was seriously affecting my confidence. As soon as I went back to the Vigilante I was back to full speed again.
