Description

Tailored to female rippers.

Originally designed for the needs of female rippers, the WTB Koda Pro Saddle became an instant favorite with ladies seeking a one-saddle solution for everything from spirited trail efforts to long-distance hauls on the road. However, a number of male testers got their hands on the Koda, praising the saddle for its extremely comfortable shape and supportive design. Realizing this, WTB opted for a female-focused designation, seeing it's tailored to ladies, yet still an excellent choice for male trail riders and road cyclists.

Seeking to reduce pressure on sensitive bits, the Koda Pro Saddle features a generous center channel that relieves pressure on longer rides. It's designed with a relatively short nose that helps you seamlessly transition on and off without snagging on your trail baggies. Additionally, its slightly swooped shape keeps you stable while laying down power on long straights and extended climbs. This particular version gets the Pro designation from WTB, meaning it's one of the more premium saddles in the Koda range with its cromoly rails and DNA Padding for superior shape retention over countless miles.

Bewilderingly comfortable!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I picked up one of these for my wife recently and am excited enough about her feedback that I'm finding myself sharing it here. I recently installed one of these Koda Pro saddles on our 29er hardtail that we both use for everything from bike packing to running errands around town and carting the kid to and from the park for some run bike laps.
After an all day excursion upon installing the saddle on our bike I asked my wife how she liked the new saddle. This is the part where our story deviates from the normal....
Typically, when it comes to saddles and my wife's thoughts on them, I would get a response such as "It was ok" or "It was not my favorite". However, on this occasion, her eyes lit up and she exclaimed, "I remember hopping on it and thinking the saddle was comfortable. Then I didn't even think about it for the rest of the ride; which is exactly what you want in a saddle!"
My experience was a bit different after spending a few rides on it. Given how the saddle is marketed as a women's trail bike saddle I found myself a bit bewildered as to just how impressed I was with the saddle. I found the saddle inexplicably comfortable and couldn't stop thinking about just how comfortable it was for the duration of my ride. I would recommend this saddle to anyone who has struggled to find a comfortable saddle and is at their wits end in their search or for anyone who thinks they are happy with their current saddle and is looking to have their mind blown with a next level saddle in regards to support and comfort.
