Can this pair with the Garmin Forerunner 245? Also, does it measure speed and cadence at the same time?

Hello there, I hope everyone is doing well. I wanted to ask if people can provide some feedback in terms of how fast they get readouts from the Speed sensor. Mine has an approximate 5 second delay when I initially start riding (using an Elemnt Bolt). I think, or at least it feels as if the same delay persists once I am in motion, either speeding up or slowing down. When I do stop riding, the unit keeps showing a reading for another 5 seconds or so. Is this behavior normal? I reached out to wahoo with these questions and they are sending me a new Speed unit to try out. I tried their earlier suggestions as well but nothing seemed to remedy this situation. A piece of garbage

I tried to use it. Installed the app (in my iPhone 10) and paired three times. In addition, I followed the instructions and attach to my front bike tire in different ways, including face up, face down, and ... nothing see photo (this site just allows one photo on reviews). It was frustrating. I will be returning this garbage in the old box received.

Good but Buyer Beware

I wanted a reliable and simple-ish system that does only speed and distance. I have a very nice GPS app on my older iPhone but MTBing in New England woods is a nightmare for any GPS unit. GPS Maps well but ACTUAL distances just can't be done. The answer is a dedicated wheel sensor. The SPEED unti is just that. My favorite GPS App can use heart monitors but not RPM monitors. So, I use the Wahoo Fitness App. Not being familiar with the App (or anything like it) I was VERY frustrated by the LACK of any real manual/instructions. Yes, if you hunt around the Wahoo site you get clues. But, there is a LARGE amount of trial and error and a STEEP learning curve required. The unit is not for those who are NOT Tech Savvy. Some Examples: 1) You have to be sure to choose/check "NONE" if you arn't using Cadence. 2) You can add and subtract screens BUT you must choose from premade choices 3) Not all options are profile specific (like which announcements you'd like to hear) The list goes on... When you finnaly understand HOW things interact, life with the unit is good. I can run just distance to save the battey or I can utilize GPS for tracks. By the way... on the Map screen there is a small "location arrow" you can toggle on and off accidently. One more thing - the battery is LIVE when you get the unit. If it was on the shelf too long it will be low. Shaking the unit "wakes" it up. So... Yes, I like this unit and it's possibilites within the Wahoo App. NO, it is NOT for those that aren't tech savvy and patient.

Great easy to use sensor!

I own the Wahoo ELMNT Bolt bundle (computer, speed/cadence & heart rate) & run it on 2 bikes. I picked-up this sensor so I would not have to switch a single speed sensor between 2 wheelsets (both have the Wahoo speed sensor). You could use 1 sensor for mutiple bikes, but would have to move the sensor onto the appropriate wheel. Easy to set-up & use: hook-up the sensor & pair with your phone using the Wahoo app & your ready to go! I have tried a couple of cheaper knock-off sensors, but they did not pair easily with my phone (iphone) or did not accurately gauge the speed. If you do not have a Wahoo computer, you should be able to pair the sensor with any ANT+ or Bluetooth Smart products (although, I have not tried this). Overall, I have had no issues with the sensor (or the computer) over 4km miles of riding & would recommend Wahoo products.

Improved navigation

This is necessary if you'll be riding a trainer indoors. Not as necessary when riding outdoors as the GPS keeps track of your stats. However, if you plan to ride in areas where GPS coverage is spotty, this can help the accuracy of the navigation and your stats. I used my Elemnt for a month without it, and then grabbed one for backcountry riding. Mounts easily to your hub, pairs quickly, and you'll forget it is gone once you have it set up.

Well what can I say, it works. Super easy to install (if you have thin hubs you may need a extra piece of rubber). I using it with my Wahoo Bolt and it connects every time with no issues.
