Not all of us are blessed with perfectly graded gravel roads, but that doesn't mean we don't want to take on miles of unpaved routes, exploring country roads just to find what's on the far end of them. If your riding conditions are a bit on the firmer side of things, deep knobby tires just aren't necessary on your gravel rig, and can even slow you down, so toss on the Vittoria Terreno Zero G2.0 Tubeless Tires and find a happy medium. The Terreno Zero aims to find a balance between slick and knobby by utilizing technology of the smooth rolling of Corsa line, and fish-scale knobs we see throughout other Terreno tires to provide reliable bite when you're booking it into corners.

disappointing

Very challenging to mount. These look great with super nice volume. Roll nicely. Probably a great tire if planning to use on-road only. On gravel, I find the tread to be really lacking. I know this is the 'zero' model, so I don't expect it to perform in heavy gravel, or technical double track, but even on mild gravel roads, the traction is very unpredictable. Had my first gravel slideout/crash in many years when I pushed these tires in a turn. My fault for pushing them too fast through a corner, but my complaint is how fast they lose traction with no hint or warning. Most tires you'll feel starting to break traction and you have a fraction of a second to react ... not these. It was upright one instant, on the ground the next. Also find that they cut extremely easily. Backside of my seat tube is a gooey, sticky mess from the frequent cuts and subsequent sealant spraying. Really disappointed as I wanted to keep these on the bike. Just happy I got them on sale.

The tread on these tires are ideal for Colorado riding groad. Super fast on paved roads and good traction cornering on the gravel. As other reviewers have mentioned on the tire it says for hooked rims only. But I went ahead and mounted them to my ENVE SES AR 3.4 wheels (a hookless rim). I'm 500 miles into them and they are holding just fine. I inflated them to about 65 psi to set the bead then deflated down to 40 psi in the 38mm tire. I ride them at 40 front and 43 rear psi and they have been good so far. I will also agree they were very tough to get on. But I was able to with tire levers (after breaking 2 of them). What seemed to work is I just kept going around and around the rim with the bead sliding around. Maybe that loosened them up a bit. They did go on but I have no idea how I did it. I have had similar issues with the enve road tire as well. When I asked enve about this they gave me the response shown in the pic. Plus using some liquid soap. So when the tires have to come off or go back on I'll be trying this process. I like that they are 120 TPI as that helps them absorb the bumps and rocks on the groads. I do wish they were made specifically for hookless rims. But so far the experiment is going well.

Prone to blowouts

I used this tire on my commuter rig inflated to 50PSI, which is a bit higher than you'd inflate for performance applications, but less than the max pressure. During one of my commutes the tire blew off the sidewall in the middle of a corner causing me to crash.

I am very disappointed in CC customer service. Before placing the order I chatted with a CSR, asking "will these tires work on hookless rims?" The answer: "they should be compatible". Today I received the tires. On the sidewall it clearly states "USE ONLY ON HOOKED RIMS". Now I have to pay return shipping and look for other tires, further delaying my project. Needless to say I will not be shopping at Competitive Cyclist again. The tires themselves look fine. Too bad I will never know.

I put them on my ENVE SES AR 3.4, so a hookless rim and they are holding just fine. I've done over 500 miles of mixed surface in Colorado and they are holding just fine. Just saying...

Fast and durable Tires

I have the 38mm but they are labeled as 40 and measure 41 on an inner width 25mm. They set up a little square but were simple to set up on WTB frequency KOM rims and hold their air really good even in Michigan winters. They are really fast and hold their footing pretty good even standing on dirt roads. I would highly recommend. No flats in about 500 miles🤞

Hooked Rim Only

PLEASE NOTE: THE SIDEWALL SAYS "HOOKED RIM ONLY" I bought to mount on a set of Enve rims, not compatible.

I went ahead and mounted them on my enve SES AR 3.4 and they are holding just fine.

If you mounted a tire that is not designed to be on a hookless rim on a hookless rim like Enve don’t complain when you eventually make an unplanned trip to the hospital and your dentist at some point. Vittoria did not label them, “Hooked Rims Only” just for the fun of it. 😆

2000 miles during which I got 4 flats

I bought these last year and put them on my Scott Scale MTB. My riding is 90% paved trails, 10% hardpack dirt or gravel roads. I run the pressure at about 75 psi letting them get down to maybe 50 before I fill them up again. Last year I rode about 1100 miles and had not flats. This years I've had 4 flats all within the last month. As I look closely at the tire tread I can see multiple small slices and several tiny holes. Two of the flats were caused by pokes through the tire from what I guess was wire. Two flats were caused by tiny but very sharp pointed stones. The tight bead on these tires made getting them off my rims challenging. Getting them back on was not difficult at all. I really don't know if 2000 miles is great, average or so-so but I feel that 2000 miles on a set of tires is pretty darn good despite the flats. Maybe my luck will change with a new set of tires. That's why I've ordered them again. They ride well, are quiet and for my type of riding, a good choice.

IMPOSSIBLE TO MOUNT, STAY AWAY

3 hours in, and I managed to mount ONE of the two tires and my hands are covered in blood. Soapy water, hair dryer, nothing did the trick. Nothing I tried would get the second tire to mount to the rim (yes, I was using tire levers). I finally got so frustrated that I decided to return the tires. I'm now having an equally hard time trying to take the tire off! These are by far the most difficult tires I have ever encountered to install or remove. I know they're "tubeless ready", but don't even think of using these with an inner tube - you won't even be able to get the tire off on the side of the road to fix a flat! Totally disappointed, and I will honestly never consider a Vittoria tire again.

I agree. I found these tires incredibly difficult to mount, and once mounted, it was even tougher to get them to align properly to the rim without wobbling. I mounted these TNT tires with tubes in 35s (37-622). I did get them mounted and aligned after about three hours and they do ride really well compared to the Vittoria Zaffiro IV in 30-622. But I am nervous about completing a flat repair on the roadside.

My 35s are true to size and outstanding

I can't speak for other reviews but I can say that my tires are labeled 35s and the are 35s inflated. Now I've been able to log a few hundred miles on these, I absolutely love them. The ride is smooth and fast on pavement and are confident and grippy on packed gravel. I don't think they'd be well suited for loose and more technical terrain. But that's why I have a mountain bike. Mounting them wasn't any more difficult than other tubeless tires I've had. In fact it was a bit easier. Took less than one hour to mount both tires to a set of Boyd 36 wheels. I've also ridden the Schwalbe G-One All Arounds, also a great tire but less road-smooth and more gravel-adept. For the riding I do (mostly road and packed gravel) I intend to stick with the Vittorias. I'd certainly buy these again.

wider than expected

Was very excited to use these tires for some mixed surface training on some Fulcrum Racing Sport Disc wheels. However, after struggling for over an hour to get them on those rims, the 35mm size ended up being almost 40mm when inflated on those rims which caused them rub on my rear stays. I wasn't able to use them for my bike due to that but am still keeping the tires for future use on other rims and a different bike. Just something to consider in case they run big on other rims.

these are labeled 700x38 not 700x35. buyers beware.....
