I have a set of lightly used Rubino's on my back-up road bike which have been fine. So I purchased a second pair for my primary bike. Into the second ride on these new tires, the front tire sustained a pinhole puncture which would not seal. The puncture would seal with added sealant and inflated to 80 psi, but once ridden would open and spray sealant. After several attempts, I have removed the tire and will look for another set. More disappointing is the non-response from Competitive Cyclist. I have sent text message, email and chat to see if there is a warranty or return option. Finally got a response by chat - no warranty/return/exchange. I recommend not buying this tire.

Not for Hookless Wheels

Was looking forward to trying these on my recently purchased Mercury G1's which are hookless bead. Tire sidewall says not for hookless!:( Ordered SCHWALBE PRO ONE TLE to replace after confirming with Schwalbe USA that fitment is okay for hookless bead.


Hi, I have normal clincher road wheels that I converted years ago to use with Hutchinson tubeless tires. It has worked great. I wonder if these will work with a standard wheel converted with stan’s tape and sealant? Thanks.

Been running tubeless for 4 years, on Giant SLR rims with 17mm internal width. I like these Vittorias better than the Giant Gavias that came with the bike, and better than the Hutchinson Sector 28s I mounted after I wore out the Giants. Why? 1: mounted easily without needing levers. 2: Sealed quickly with a little boost from the compressor. 3: Immediately held pressure overnight. 4: Riding them feels fast and smooth. One caution: these tires run narrower than the labeled size. 25mm measured just under 23, so I returned them and ordered 28s, which measure about 27. Only 150 miles so far, so I can't speak to durability. I have the same question as Giorgio regarding pressure. I find they work well at 65 - 70. Can't seem to get an answer to why the manufacturers all specify an unrealistically high minimum pressure.

Hey Michael, I played around a lot with pressures and must say that, being 200lb, I rode this set about 2500miles, from as little as 50F/60R to as much as 70F/80R, and anything in between. Never at low pressures have I ever experienced any issues, apart from loss of speed. I now, like you, typically ride 62F/70R. Having received 10 different opinions from 6 different people, I believe that the high recommended pressure figures are CYA from the manufacturer, no more no less. Happy riding!

Skeptical but sold

I've put it through the wringer

I was a road tubeless skeptic. These were my first set of tubeless tires. I thought I would have issues with them but I have been pleasantly surprised. Set up was actually quite easy. They are easy to mount with levers. Set them up with stans. The only problem I encountered was they would loose pressure overnight. This was solved after adding more stans. They seem to have marinated now and hold pressure like a normal tire. They measured small at first 28mm measuring at about 26.5 on a 25mm wide rim but now they measure dead on 28mm. I bought these as a training/ winter tire. They are perfect for the riding I do. There's random gravel and rocks all over the roads where I live. It slashes tires easily. Conti 4000s don't stand a chance. These tires have held up great. There's been time I hit sharp rocks hard expecting a big old slash but nothing, not even a mark. Running lower pressure is also great for the Chip Seal around here. It smooths things out like a nice road would be. I think they sacrifice some speed at the lower pressures but they defiantly ride great. I've also tested these off road and they perform stellar. Great all around tire. I've got 1000 miles on them and hardly a sign of wear.

Hey Eric, I have the same tires set on Fulcrum Carbon Zero wheels and observed the same facts you describe, initial loss of pressure overnight and smaller diameter than nominal (26.5mm). My question to you is: at what pressure do you run them? I'm asking because on the older wheels, Fulcrum Racing 7 that I ran with tubes, I had the Zaffiro Pro, same size (700 x 28), but on the tire there's a lower pressure range, 60min/90max, than in the Rubino Pro TLR, 87min/115max. On the tubeless I can't run the same lower pressure as on the Zaffiro Pro, thus losing the comfort. Am I missing something?

I ordered 2 of these. Had them installed at LBS with Peaty’s sealant. Tires lose a lot of lbs. per night, but hold air for a day of riding. Front tire has its slashes but no sealant came out. Rear tire has been a problem. Picked up a staple, couldn’t get it fully sealed. It’s a tiny hole. I also got some slashes but no sealant was needed, got another smaller than a pin sized hole and sealant never stopped it as it should. Removed, remounted, Cleaned tire with soap and can see many super small air holes around the tire bubbling up. Is this normal with tires without sealant? Seems like manufacturing issue to me.
