Corsa Control G2.0 Tire

The Vittoria Corsa Control G2.0 Tire is made for riding and racing on greasy cobbles and rough roads, or in generally slick conditions. Compared to the standard Corsa, you'll see the addition of textured shoulder tread for improved grip on slippery surfaces, as well as increased tread thickness for better puncture resistance and durability. The 320 TPI Corespun-K casing ensures the tire feels supple though, smoothing out chattering chip-seal surfaces while remaining strong thanks to its Kevlar reinforcement.

Vittoria owns the only extruder in the world that allows for 4 compounds in a single tread, which it then fortifies with Graphene 2.0. This allows Vittoria to fine-tune the flex of the tread-base and tread-surface separately, placing the correct durometer Graphene 2.0 compound exactly where it's needed for maximum grip, rolling speed, cornering control, and wear life. Vittoria claims that Graphene 2.0 significantly reduces rolling resistance, while at the same time increasing abrasion-resistance, making this tire both faster and more resistant to flats than the previous generation of Corsa Control.

A once great tire, apparently ruined

Familiarity:

Let me preface by saying that I've ridden corsa control's over the winter for years and loved them... until this winter. Performance is still exceptional and they're the best road feel of any 'winter' road tire that you'll find. That said, the durability has completely fallen off. I ordered three of these at the end of August and mounted them up in mid October. I had one fail after about 5 weeks of use on the rear, maybe 1000 miles or so... the bead began delaminating from the tire carcass and eventually opened up. Competitive Cyclist, as is typical of them, was fantastic about replacing this tire and had another shipped out to me in a matter of days. Went ahead and swapped the failed tire for the third I'd ordered on the initial order, and had the same issue come up after about a month or so, again about 1000 miles. Caught this one early before it actually tore all the way through and was able to limp home and change it out for the replacement tire I was sent... that third tire failed a couple weeks ago, after about 6 weeks on the bike and maybe 800 or so miles. Not sure what Vittoria has changed on these tires since last winter but this is atrocious durability and $240 on three tires that collectively couldn't make it through a single winter of riding is absolutely unacceptable.

Great Tire!

I've been using these for almost two years. I have 1,800 miles on the rear 25mm (F8 will not support 28mm) and 900 miles on the 28mm up front. I've had one rear flat, and that was solved by replacing my rim tape. I highly recommend these!

I bough these in July 2021. Rear side wall split today (9.22.21). These are smooth and I have not had any issues until today. I was surprised that they split so quickly. I keep them at about 90 PSI. No word back from Vittoria is they will replace it.

Fab Tire on Rough and Wet Roads

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I have had outstanding results with multiple pairs of Vittoria Corsa Control tires over thousands of miles. I live on a gravel road and regularly ride on paved roads with lots of debris on the shoulders. The Corsa Controls have been nearly flat proof, especially compared to the Challenge and Specialized tires used by companions on group rides.

Wouldn?t recommend

Familiarity:

Was super excited about the tires. Living in Seattle, I need something solid and grippy for the wet winter. Unfortunately, these tires are way to thin and susceptible to flats. 6 flats in 2 months is just unacceptable. Time to get something new. Fortunately, backcountry is awesome and receptive to issues.

Bad first choice for a starter tire...

But a fantastic tire nonetheless. If you have a "competition" set of wheels (or any set of wheels you go vroom vroom in), this is an excellent choice. Just don't make the rookie mistake I made and use these tires on *all* of your wheel sets. In my defense, I had Black Inc 60s and 30s, but in reality, with the miles I was putting on both wheel sets, I could've used at least one set of tires meant for long distance rides. You wouldn't believe the things I got flats from, mostly little sharp pebbles that pierced through the extremely weak tread. I think in just 2.5k miles, I purchased well over ten tubes just to accommodate these tires (two sets, mind you). I gave up on trying to use latex after the first set, lol. Oh, and if anyone needs a suggestion on how to patch these tires up after a bad flat (one that cuts through the treads entirely, leaving a significant hole from the inside), I used clear wrap vinyl to cover most of the large holes produced from those pesky pebbles. And, as you put miles on it, it begins to meld quite well with the interior of the tire. Very light, too! Anyway, if you are patient with these tires, you'll certainly appreciate the quality and true improvement to your rides. Couple them with a set of latex tube, and boy, you'll feel like a pro min-maxing watt savings in no time. Now, if the roads you ride on are covered in debris and aforementioned small, sharp pebbles, or if flats infuriate you more than losing a KOM, look elsewhere :)

Worst tire I ever used!

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I buy this tire two months ago since Im a big fan of Vittoria but I have two puncture the same day I use for the first time and a lot of cuts in the tires like it was a year with a tire is like a tire made of paper. I lost my money. Doesn't recommend to anyone! I order again my old ones the Vittoria Rubino Pro Control.

Where do I start...?

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

3 flats in the first 75 miles. Waaay too much slipping and skidding when accelerating or braking in wet conditions. Fitting them to the wheel is a little awkward. The tread picks up a lot of sand & grit. I complained about these on Strava, and 3 guys immediately shared similar disappointment with Vittoria tires. For what it's worth, they seem to ride really nicely -- on smooth, flat pavement when traveling in a straight line. I'll be relegating these to the indoor trainer and sticking with Michelin Power race compound tires. They have great ride quality and last a long time for racing tires.
