Vision Trimax 4D Compact Handlebar $
Comfort, lightweight, and aerodynamics—who says you can't have it all? The Vision Trimax 4D Compact Handlebar features continuous carbon composite construction that offers lightweight performance with the stiffness to harness all of your out-of-the-saddle and bar-wrenching efforts before triumphantly throwing your hands in the air after a bike throw. When cruising in the flats and in the pack, the 10-degree forward bend puts your wrist in a neutral position making it one of the most comfortable road handlebars on the market. While climbing the Aero-Ergo flat top base section helps the bar slice through the wind and offers exceptional hand positions. The bar features Di2 and EPS focused electronic cable grooves further improving aesthetics and performance. Reinforced and textured lever and stem clamp areas prevent slipping without having to resort to crushing torque values. 80mm of reach and 125mm of drop provide superior ergonomics. Meet your new favorite road bar.
- An aerodynamic road bar with exceptional ergonomics
- UD layup reduces weight but not stiffness
- Carbon composite dampens vibrations for a less fatiguing ride
- 10-degree forward bend promotes neutral wrists
- Shorter and shallower profile encourages more hand positions

- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I installed it on my Orbea Avant. Probably the smartest upgrade I've made in years. It provides a more aggressive position but not too aggressive. This bar won't kill your back on endurance rides. Take it from a middle-aged guy. In the end, it's about how the ride feels. Where you will notice the difference is in the climbs. The slight upright position makes all the difference. There's also no flex, which is quite common in aero carbon bars. This is a stiff bar that provides comfort and performance.
Awesome bar for an awesome price
I just installed this bar and I did measure it out thinking I would have to install a shorter stem but that wasnt the case at all and actually it came up a couple mm short of my original dimensions. The drops on these bars go almost vertical from where the hoods mount which gives a nice flat profile from where the bar transitions to the hoods. The 10 degree sweep forward is not even noticeable because of this . I have a couple good rides on this bar and found when sprinting out of the saddle there was no interference between my wrists and the bar tops. I found when seated climbing the tops are comfy and have a slight angle which seems unusual at first but not bothersome at all whatsoever. I think the ergonomics are very good on this bar. I am almost tempted to buy another one to replace my K wing compact when it gets tired. So if your looking and are worried about the 10 degree forward sweep relax it is not even a factor. The 80mm reach from what I have measured and ride feel is an actual measurement. Let me see should I throw one more of these bars in with the Mavic Carbon wheels I just ordered. Head says yes, bank account says no.
What is the actual reach of the bar, given the 10-degree forward bend.
From the middle of the bar at the stem to the front.
Reported reach is 80mm.
Reach is 80 mm even considering the 10-degree bend. Just measured it on a 440 mm size. Overall measurements are tricky and even Vision/FSA doesn't know (no documentation anywhere on their website either). I contacted them twice and got wrong answers. I took a chance and ordered the 440 mm version and measured everything. they are 450 mm (center to center) at the end of the bars and about 430 mm (c-c) at the hoods. Vision sells them as 440+10 mm because in addition to the 2-degree flaring there is a 5 mm "bulge" on each side of the drops. It makes sense now but without explanation, it's impossible to know before you have the actual handlebars in your hands. Other than that, beautiful and very well engineered product.

Is it the aero type???
Best bargain ever
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Bought this 42cm as a replacement for my 44cm Zipp SL70 that was too large. Switched to Carbon from Aluminum for the same price as this product is discontinued. Having a 5-year old bike, I don't care not having the latest model. Ergonomics are great, carbon looks great, just got it installed to ride on rollers indoors. Can't wait to ride outside with it once winter's done!
Is this measure from center/center or outside/outside?
It's measured from c to center of the drops... doesn't say it on this website and I've asked many of the gear heads here and they did not know. Purchased a 42 thinking it's be 40 on the hoods and 42 on drops. But it's 42 on hoods and 44 on drops. So strange!
The 440 mm version is 450 mm at the end of the bars (center to center) and about 430 mm at the hoods (c-c).
