Item # VLX0001

The French-to-English translation of Fond de Jante is "bottom of the rim". Which is exactly where the self adhesive Velox rim strips go. It's the only type of rim strip we sell because it's the only type you should put on your wheels. Sure, many wheels these days come complete with their own branded rim strips. Often these are stringy plastic things that offend in every way. Velox on the other hand is perfect in every way. It's inexpensive, it lasts forever, and it's highly effective at shielding your tube from the backside of rim eyelets.

works great

I've put it through the wringer

Got these to replace 31 year old Velox rim tape I installed when I built my bike in 1990. Still the best.

The Best Bar None

I've put it through the wringer

This is a must. I remember buying Velox my first time in a bike shop many years ago when I had a cheap wal-mart schwinn it was probably my first good cycling product. This is the threaded bottom bracket of wheel products it works and you forget about it for years. Used in my house for everything from DT Swiss R460's, Older non tubeless mtb wheels, Zipp 404 FC's, and 808 NSW's. It just works and doesn't slip around when wet for prolonged periods of time like cheap rim strips.

Pretty Good...So Far

Haven't had these installed very long just yet, but so far, so good. Previously, the tires had this cheap, stretchy, plasticky stuff that became brittle, stretched, got holes over the spoke ends, and wore at least one hole into my tube, with probably more to follow. So, I ordered this, installed into both rims, and they're doing great. Easily fit my 700c road rims, with a small bit of overlap.

Sticks well

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I was finding a lot of rim strips that were either too wide or to narrow to line the old 26in wheels on my tandem. Then I found this rimstrip and it fits perfectly. Its thick enough that I think it will do a good job of keeping my tubes safe and it adheres quite well

Totally solid

I've put it through the wringer

after the tape that came on my rims failed I upgraded to this and I have had no issues.

It's a rim strip

A little heavier than most plastic strips, in case you are an OCD weight weenie. I've got them on 2 sets of road bike wheels and a pair of MTB wheels. only been using them for about 6 months but no flats so far.
