great for cooking or a morning meal

    I use this to make chocolate protein cookies and also mx it with my morning coffee to make a protein packed frappaccino. I am not huge into the taste but works well masked in cookies or a covered with a little bitter coffee flavor

    Good for Blending

    I add a scoop of the vanilla to my morning smoothies, and they taste great. But I'm also adding greens, frozen fruit, coconut milk, etc. so any chalky texture or weird flavor is masked. So I would definitely say good for blending, not good straight.

    I Want To Like

    I keep buying this because I really love the concept of a vegan protein powder, but I every flavor I've tried is really gross. I think I just hate the underlying pea protein flavor. It should be mentioned that my friend, who I've been giving the powder to after I give up on trying to like them, thinks that they are delicious so it's very likely that I'm the problem.

      Vega Protien and Greens - Chocolate

      My favorite clean protein hands down. It can be mildly grainy to some who have had ultra smooth protein in the past, but it's far less grainy compared to other proteins I've had. I was nervous about the taste since it's got the "and greens" but it's delicious. I mix it with water and it's fine, but most days I blend it with spinach, a banana, and organic peanut butter. That morning cocktail is one of my favorite meals, period. Such a good way to start the day or fill up after a workout.

      I've tried a lot of protein in my time and non compare even in the slightest to Vega protein and greens. The plant powered protein is way easier on my tummy than whey and the 2 servings of greens per scoop helps in getting all the proper nutrients your body needs. Vanilla is my all time favorite and I love to mix it with almond milk, mix into morning oatmeal or worst case scenario, mix it with water and it still tastes great! It mixes really well and doesn't leave any residue on the bottom of the shaker bottle. A huge plus!!! Tastes great and fuels your body well, what more could you want?

      A lot less bad than I was expecting

      This is my first foray into a protein supplement, and I expected it to be horrible. But it's really not too bad. I mix it into shakes, Greek yogurt, or sometimes just a glass of water when in a hurry. It has definitely helped my workouts and my recovery

      Go-To Protein Shake

      This protein shake is really good. I use it in almond milk in the morning cause it's a great energy boost to get you going. It's got a lot of good amino acids so it works well for vegetarians too.

      Daily Breakfast

      I have one of these most mornings after I work out, and I am very happy with Vega, and with this product. I used to buy the "All In One Nutrition Shake" but I drink so much of this stuff that it wasn't economical. It doesn't have all the oils, probiotics and vitamins as the All in One but it is also about 20 dollars cheaper per jug.

      The mouthfeel is slightly chalky compared to whey, but this is still the best tasting vegan protein powder that I have ever used.

      My Favorite Plant Based Protein

      I use Vega as a morning meal, post-workout snack, & in-workout fuel. As a vegetarian with celiac & dairy sensitivity this is a godsend. The chocolate is probably my favorite flavor, but the berry & vanilla are good as well! I mix it up with a little bit of almond milk in addition to water for some extra sweetness.

      Quick easy protein

      Mixes up pretty easy and tastes good, great quick meal replacement. I've tried the vanilla and the chocolate, I think the vanilla tastes better but the chocolate seems to mix up a little easier, neither are a bad choice.

        I have tried dozens of protein powders from many different brands, running the spectrum from whey isolates and caseins, to soy and other vegetarian-based powders -- including Vega Sport Performance. I have a personal training background and am on the bike5-6 days per week, so I tend to rely on protein supplements to help round out my macronutrients. Vega is a brand that consistently puts out high-quality products with minimal (or no) fillers, so I was expecting good things with the new Protein & Greens product. Here are some key points I found worth noting:


        This is definitely a thicker shake, which is actually pretty typical of veg-based powders. If you prefer your shakes to be smooth, you'll need to add quite a bit of water. I actually enjoy making protein pudding, so I'll put a scoop of Vega in a bowl, add a minimal amount of water, and mix until I get a nice, thick, creamy consistency. But for most, a blender ball/shaker cup will be required.


        I had chocolate, which is very rich and very dark, almost bitter. The flavor is not overly sweet and is entirely unique. I really cannot compare it to other brands/types, with the exception of Vega Sport, which uses a similar ingredient profile (sans the Greens).


        With 120 calories, 1g fat, 6g carbs (2g of fiber) and 20g of protein, this is a very healthy option for those in need of additional protein in their diet. Big fan of the inclusion of greens in this formula, though it's hard to gauge what the actual percentage of those greens are. One downside is the amino acid profile, which is the key to a well-rounded protein powder. The nutritional panel only lists 15 amino acids, but there are 20 required by the body for protein synthesis and cellular function, so this isn't a "complete" protein source. But it does have adequate dosing of the branch-chained amino acids (Leucine, isoleucine and valine) which are the most anabolic of the amino acids

        So overall.. its great. Might be an acquired taste but I'm pretty picky so I feel as if this could appeal to all.

        Great for vegetarians and protein lovers

          Ever since I became vegetarian, 9 years ago, I have been using Vega to get my protein on days I skimp on legumes or tofu. This my first time using their protein shakes and I must say I really like them.
          At first I had a really hard time with the texture. I'm going to be honest here, the graininess of it really deterred me. However, I've found that if you put water in first with several ice cubes and then your scoop of powder, the graininess seems to smooth out. Just really shake this thing well or blend until your heart's content. I use this in a standard blender bottle on the go, or when I have time in the mornings I blend it with bananas and blueberries! I have the vanilla and berry flavors and I love to switch in between the two for variety. I've only been using them for about 2 weeks now, but they fill me up quickly and I have a really big appetite so that's saying a lot.
          I wouldn't recommend drinking these with less than 20oz of water or else the shake turns into a gloopy shake.

          Sooo much better than Whey

            I've tried quite a few different protein powders but they always hurt my stomach. I've been using Vega Protein and Greens for over 2 years now and have never felt sick. I also love that the greens are included to bump up my intake.
