Get your head straight.

Building your own bicycle, or doing your own maintenance on your machine, can be immensely satisfying. The right tools for the job are critical, however, and the lack thereof can lead to some hazardous improvisation, particularly when it's almost midnight and you've had an adult beverage or two. Install your headset cups improperly, for example, and the results can be terrible, including a permanently damaged frame, or face. The Unior Headset Bearing Cup Press is designed to safely and properly install headset bearings or bearing cups into head tubes from 1, 1.125, 1.25, or 1.5 inches in diameter. It's made of hardened, tool-grade steel from which Unior makes many of its best tools, so it will last as long as you keep riding and wrenching.

Affordable Pro Tool

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I used the Park tool version in a shop for years but when it came to outfitting my home bench, I wasn't prepared for the Park price tag. The quick adjust clamp at the base is not as refined as the Park but as far as pressing is concerned, it works just the same. I have a Pivot that runs two different size headset cups so I remove and install it often and I've been super happy with this press. Save a few bucks and go Unior. You won't regret it.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Finally broke down and bought this press tool and its a treat to use. I've used Park and EVT presses in the past and this one from Unior ranks right up there with them. I've used it for pressfit BB and HS alike and it's quick and easy to use. Plus it looks so pro hanging on the pegboard.

Would I be able to use this to press in a BB386EVO?

Hey Erik, unless you're using a BB that threads in on itself, yes, this will work.

This headset press is amazing for the price. The quality and durable is out of this world. If you need to press bottom brackets or headsets this is the tool you will want to buy. Works like a charm.

Quality bearing press.

This was my first try with Unior tools and I was happy with the quality. This is great for headsets and also bottom brackets with all of the various press in options that are out there. Having the proper tool feels so much better than using a rubber mallet and a block of wood or a homemade threaded rod press.
