Lightweight & deceptively spacious

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I am in love with this vest! I went back on forth for weeks on lightweight vs being able to carry a little more and I made the right choice. I'm small (5'3" and 106 pounds). I have the chest straps pretty much as small as they will go but it is possible to make it even more snug by working on the bungee straps at the back. The soft flasks are great and sit securely, Just be sure to pull the toggle at the top to keep them from moving and they don't budge. The little pockets are awesome and I was surprised how much I could fit into the pack pockets without overloading myself. Very easy to access things in the vest while running and I loved that I could shed a layer and stuff my long sleeves between the pack pocket and the framework mesh of the vest as well. Much nicer than lugging a sweattop around your waist. I've received a number of comments and compliments at aid stations about how it holds so much yet I'm still running with minimal load. I definitely recommend this vest, especially if you have the option for drop bags or there are aid stations to refill your bottles on a long distance race. This will happily cover my needs for up to 100K distance if I have somewhere to top up my flasks.

Perfect Long runs & short hikes

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I'm an ironman triathlete and have tried everything to carry enough hydration for those 15+ mile training runs. I've finally found the goldilocks pack. Enough liquid for a 90-minute sufferfest in the desert of Arizona, and for humid summer runs in the northeast. No bounce, phone pocket in the back, cinches tight and "disappears" on your body until you get thirsty. Goodbye Fuelbelt, Ultimate Direction nailed it.

Most Breathable Vest

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

The folks at BackCountry have been awesome in making sure I got a vest that fit just right. This vest is perfect for those hot runs when you need a little more breathability and little more hydration than a hand held. (especially if you sweat a lot) I found this vest to be perfect for carry 1 to 1.5L of water as well as all my nutrition. No need for anything bigger if you are planning to be out running for less than a full day or are doing a supported race with aid stations. Better fit and more breathability than the previous 3.0 version.
