This Clutch Is Clutch.
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Handhelds are worth their weight in gold - especially when they're well-fitting. I'd been running with a slightly more bulky hard bottle hand held and I hated it. Based on my experience with the Ultimate Direction vests and Hydrapak Soft Flasks (which is who supplies UD with their soft flasks), I figured the Clutch was worth a try.
The bite valve is great and provides instant access to hydration. I really love how easily the Clutch packs down, should I need to toss it in a shorts pocket, and the zippered pocket on the hand held is super convenient for items like my debit card or license (because sometimes you just have to have an End Of The Run Brew before your cool-down walk home). The hook-and-loop closure is a little funky, and I would have preferred a different closure method... but I can't complain because the fabric doesn't chafe or what not. I typically use this when I'm running roads on hot days, or I use it specifically for electrolytes, in addition to my vest, when I'm running trails. That way I can alternate between water and electrolytes without having to wonder which flask has which thing in it. That being said, the flask doesn't hold taste which is great.
I would definitely recommend this product to folks looking for a packable alternative to a hard hand held.
