Become the seal.
The spirit animal of all open-water swimmers is the seal, and the industry has spent countless hours in R&D trying to replicate the mammals' cold-water swimming abilities. TYR's Hurricane Cat 2 Wetsuit is a prime example of this, because it insulates and boosts buoyancy, hydrodynamics, and core stability. These very seal-like qualities place it among the best values in the fullsuit market and move you one step closer to transcendental sealdom.
We put a lot of stock in the 360° Core Stabilization System because it performs a service that you'll find indispensable. It uses five panels to provide compressive support to your key muscle groups, which reduces long-term fatigue, improves blood circulation, and promotes optimal posture in the water. It also adds an additional element of buoyancy so you can focus on moving forward, not staying afloat.
Like its sister offerings, the Cat 2's shoulders incorporate Tyr's Free R.O.M. (Range of Motion) Zone design, which eliminates restriction in the shoulder for long-reaching swimming motions. It also uses Speed Wrap Paneling on the legs and torso. Speed Wrap's lightweight 5mm Yamamoto Nano neoprene means more nitrogen bubbles per square inch for more buoyancy. The panels are also SCS (Super Composite Skin) Coated, so they not only increase buoyancy, but they also reduce drag.
The rest of the suit is made from durable, drag reducing, and unrestrictive Slick Skin Neoprene, which keeps the price low without sacrificing valuable seconds during your event's first leg. The wrist cuffs are designed to stretch in multiple directions, so they're also unrestrictive while preventing flushing. When you get to T1, the ankle cuffs are tapered to catch your shins, allowing the wetsuit to peel inside-out for quick removal.
