Descendant 6K Eagle DUB Crankset

Many of us around the office shudder at the words "bottom bracket standards." This simple phrase elicits a sense of worry as we hypothesize about what new contraption will come forward with proprietary spindles, shells, and bearings. Fortunately for us, the release of DUB technology found in TruVativ's Descendant 6K Eagle DUB Crankset eases that anxiety. This chain-locking crankset combines SRAM's X-SYNC 2 tooth profile that commands control, with SRAM's DUB technology that future-proof's your crankset by standardizing spindle sizes, and offering a pairing bottom bracket that fits all current standards.

6000-series forged aluminum construction maximizes caters to discerning trail riders and enduro racers seeking stiffness and strength without the higher cost of its carbon crank brethren. Choose between 170 and 175-millimeter crank arm lengths, depending on your riding preferences and intended usage on the trail. It's compatible with SRAM DUB bottom brackets for any shell standard, and works exclusively with 142mm non-Boost spacing. The 32-tooth direct-mount Eagle chainring must be paired with a SRAM Eagle chain and cassette, and its spindle must be paired with a DUB bottom bracket of your choice.

comes stock for a reason

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I am not a carbon crank guy, this crank comes stock on many Sram builds. Its really heavy at 700g. Its very stiff, as it should be at that weight. The cranks are one of the places where you only notice the weight on the scale. I am not a believer in Carbon cranks. on anything but the lightest duty bikes and riders you see way too many failures. Having the pedal spindle pull out of your carbon crank upon landing isnt good.It also happens all the time. These came stock on my bike and I am pleased enough. I will probably move them to a new frame when I move on. 3 stars is because they use an Aluminum alloy bolt in the spindle clamp and this part should be steel for longevity. If this alloy bolt cross threads into the steel spindle , it will turn the cranks into a paper weight. At this price point make it a steel to steel clamping surface. Otherwise these cranks are solid and better durability and stiffness than other budget cranks like NX and SX.
