Burly Glove

Super burly glove perfect for DH and freeride. Personally I prefer the air and ace glove but these are great if you are looking for a little added protection.

    Side Palm Pad is Clutch

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

When I fall, I tend to catch myself on the side or palm of my hand and I've struggled finding gloves with padding in that spot until the Ruckus. I just finished ordering my 4th pair 1) because I like a set of dry gloves when I drop in for my race run and 2) if you find something you like in the cycling industry, you better stock up because they'll change it or discontinue it for some reason! The only reason I didn't give these gloves 5 stars is because the finger pad isn't the best for working my iPhone. They hold up well and the fit is perfect. My palm measures 8" and the medium fits perfect.

    Good protection and performance

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These gloves have a great balance between comfort and protection. They are not the lightest or most breathable gloves out there, but the padding is excellent for all around riding as well as downhill. The pad on the outside edge of the palm is great for bails, and the padding on the outside of the hand and fingers is fairly minimal but provides good protection. My favorite part of the glove is the little pad that runs across the top of the palm, which helps with vibrations and big hits. The strap also never comes undone which is great. The palm has a nice feel and the glove breathes well considering it is more of a downhill glove. I have tried gloves from Dakine and Giro in the past, but these are my favorite so far and I am now on my second pair after losing my first.

    Palm ripped on first fall

    • Fit: Runs small

These are very comfortable but not the least bit durable. One minor fall and the palm ripped.
On the bright side, they have a protective area that hardens on impact to protect your hands.
