Wear these often without them bothering me on rides. Only minor crashes so far so no real test yet. Riding in real rocky trails I would probably get a hard shell. Recommend for average trails

These are awesome. I fell and hurt my hip, twice, same spot! Decided I needed some protection. These shorts do provide great protection for me (I'm not real aggressive). They do run quite a bit big. Also the chamois is thin; fine for short rides but you may want something more for longer. For longer rides I've worn liner or even road shorts under them.

They are pretty light weight. The chamois isn’t the thickest, which you might notice on long climbs. They do run large. Purchased a small and they fit fine. The mediums were huge on the legs.

Most of my rides are under 2 hours and really don't even notice them. Have put them through a couple of spills and they provided the protection I was hoping for ( I'm 67 and wanted hip protection ). I bought size large.

Works for what it is intended for......

- Medium

I'm 5'8" 200lb, 34 waist, bought a large but had to exchange it for a medium. The medium fit great and was comfortable while riding. The seat pad is pretty much useless if your on a ride longer than an hour, that's the reason for the four stars. Other than that a good liner with moderate protection.

Great for what you want them for
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Use them for Enduro or downhill rides, they are sturdy enough to protect you on falls, but stay away from it on regular XC days since it will be an overkill.

Unbulky padding.

FYI: Im 170 lbs, 5' 10", w/ a 32 inch waist and the smalls fit perfect...The mediums were too long and baggy. These might be a little much if you're doing a lot of climbing but for shuttling or DH laps from the chair they are great.

Hey Jimmy - these shorts have protective padding as well as an integrated chamois. As far as protective shorts these are really good. If you are looking to get something with more minimal padding and no chamois check out the G Form Pro-X compression shorts.
