Why We Like The A3 MIPS Helmet
Even if you know the twists and turns of the trail like the back of your hand, your noggin still deserves reliable protection against unexpected falls and impacts. To cover your cranium for those all-mountain adventures, throw on the Troy Lee Designs A3 MIPS Helmet. Its polycarbonate shell is designed to act as the initial barrier when charging trails, and underlying EPS foam absorbs impact through every fall. The A3 offers additional coverage along the temples and base of your head than its smaller sibling, the A2, but doesn't go overboard with chin bars that are better-suited for the bike park. MIPS technology repositions the helmet to soak up angled impacts, and a ventilated shell keeps you cool on hot summer rides. To protect your eyes from debris and glare, the A3 employs a three-position adjustable visor that our riders applaud for its ability to break cleanly from the helmet through a fall, reducing impact forces if you don't happen to stick the landing.- A ventilated all-mountain helmet for confident control in the saddle

Initial impressions of course, but after one ride in the A3 MIPS helmet, I'm a big fan. I once tried on a TLD A1 and instantly was uncomfortable, so I had my hesitations trying out the A3 MIPS helmet. Pulled it out of the box, threw it on, and was blown away at how comfortable it is and how well it fits my head. The adjustable boa system and ability to move the rear stabilizer fit system (the plastic that cradles the back of your head) up and down allows you to find that perfect fit. I personally wish it were halfway between the lowest two notches, but the middle does just fine. The ventilation is next level as well. The lightweight helmet breathes incredibly well on the way up, and for someone that overheats easily, that is clutch. The adjustable visor uses magnets, so it's easy to adjust, but stays in place even on rowdy sections of trail. Troy Lee Designs absolutely crushed it with the A3 MIPS helmet. A stylish, yet incredibly functional design leaves you looking great while being protected. Oh and the magnetic buckle is easy to do and undo with one hand, yet stays locked on the ride with zero concern. Sizing is on par with Smith and POC helmets as well. Easy to slide your sunglasses into the front of the helmet for storage as well.
