Description

With the Topeak PanoBike Blue Tooth Speed/Cadence Sensor, you can turn a smartphone, tablet, or any Bluetooth Smart (BLE 4.0) device into a personal training and health management device. All you have to do is chose an app (Strava, MapMyRide, Runtastic, Endomondo, ext.) of your liking and sync it with the Blue Tooth Speed/Cadence Sensor.

The Bluetooth smart algorithm extends the included CR2032 battery's life to an incredible 1800 hours (approximately five years with an hour a day use). The transmitter is water resistant so light precipitation will not ruin the device. And, it has a transmission range of 33 feet so you can use laptops/desktops/tablets when training indoors, or a handlebar/pocket location while on the bike.

The Topeak PanoBike Blue Tooth Speed/Cadence Sensor uses a rubber-band style mount with zip ties to allow quick and easy mounting on chainstays or seatstays without harming the frame.

Ended up using only the speed sensor

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This double sensor did not work for me as I expected, I could only make one sensor to work but not both because if I align the cadence sensor, the speed one is too far (4cm, the recommended is no more than 2.5cm), even when putting the 2 magnets to get it closer.

On the other hand, having the 2 magnets on the speed sensor makes the sensor to rotate because of the weight of the magnets :S, I tight the sensor as much as I could but it kept rotating; so at the end I removed the magnets and decided to just use the speed sensor.

Good, not perfect

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I really like how ease it's to connect this sensor with different devices (I connected it to an Android phone, a TomTom watch and 2 Polar computers), this compatibility makes it a great buy. Also it whit stands water , mud and bad streets like a champ.

The only caveat is that sometimes it takes too long to report changes in cadence and speed, so if you're working on intervals, it doesn't report as accurately as you expect.

Does What It's Supposed To

Got this mostly to use with a trainer, but it's handy for real rides too. It was easy to install and connect with the apps I use. It does what it's supposed to and that's all I can ask.

Is it compatible with the watch Suunto Peak Ambit 3?

Great little sensor pairs easily and quickly. The response time on the data is a bit slower than other systems and app needs some work but overall great product

    Very well made censor

I upgraded from a CatEye Double wireless and I must say this kit is very well thought out and well made. Installing it was very easy, although I had to use the additional magnets that come with the kit as I have a skinny 23c wheel and tyre. The app for iPhone so far works well, but can be improved a lot more.
