Thule Wheel On Bike Mount $59.95
Who wants a mucky tire inside the car?
The Thule Wheel On demonstrates that good design can apply to even the simplest piece of gear. The Wheel On complements fork mounting racks such as the V2 [THU0004] and Velo Vise [THU0003] by carrying your front tire. The Wheel On tilts so you can fold it down out of the way when not in use and adjust the angle it sits at to fit around other rack systems. A spin-proof system keeps your wheel steady, and an easy to use drop in groove means you'll fight less getting the wheel in the rack than you do getting it on the bike.
- Folding arms
- Quick-release wheel attachment

Excellent addition to rack system
This is an awesome addition to any rack system that requires removal of the front wheel to mount your bike. I purchased this item when I was carting around several bikes and was placing the front wheel inside the vehicle. This helped move the cumbersome wheel out of the passenger space of my small sedan and keep it up on the roof with the cycles. Worked well with my road bike and mountain bike wheel sets. Was especially handy to keep it on the rack after those wet rides that leave you and your kit a lil' moist and muddy.
They work okay on my pickup bed rack. There is no way to secure them. They install easy, but they also uninstall easy. Could be easily stolen.
It does what it's supposed to do, and works well with my Thule Aero bars. I've only used it for roadie wheels since my mountain rig has a through axel, but it holds the wheel steady at pretty much any speed. It's a cheap space saver and keeps the inside of your car clean if you care about such things.
i like it but...
works well, with stand pointed 90deg straight up the wheel wobbles in the wind so it must be folded down with the tire resting on the car. Dirty tire may scratching paint.
Shakes a little
I bought two of these tire holders to go on top of my car (one for my wifes bike, one for mine) hoping to save some space on the inside of the car. They do work although I had do do some modifications to make them work the way I wanted to. The first time I used it to hold the tires, it looked like the tires would wobble right out. The wind from driving shook the tires and made them wave. After I lashed them together I didn't have that problem. The other thing we were worried about was the fact that there is not a locking device on the holder. To eliminate that problem I took a cable style bike lock and looped it through the tires and the Thule support bar (which is locked). It works perfect with these mods.
Easy to use....
easy to use and it's great to get a little more room in the car on the MT bike/camping trips.
Fit great on stock 04 Protege wagon cross bars...
I've been using this with my 2004 Mazda Protege 5 wagons oval shaped factory cross bars and it mounts tight. I love the anti spin design.
Will update this if things go wrong.
I tried to use these with the Bed Rider. I wouldn't recommend it. I'm sure they would work great with the normal racks.
This is so much better than having to jam a wheel into the back of the car. Its easy to install and sturdy.
