Wrong parts

Mine also shipped with the wrong parts - exactly the same as the person who reviewed the product in August . That was ten days before I placed my own order. The rack I got had clearly been sent back by someone - the box was re-taped, all of the parts were packaged in Ziploc bags, etc.

Anyway, I had the same issue, where the rack came with matching rather than mirrored feet. I made do by flipping one of the feet over and assembling it that way, but the rack is a little less stable as a result and I had to put it in a carpeted area to make sure the upside-down leg didn't gouge the floor. I was surprised and not very impressed by the mixup. I wrote an email review of this product shortly after I got it (clicked on a link Backcountry had sent me) but never got a reply back.

    Shipped with wrong parts

The rack shipped with two matching left feet, instead of mirrored feet. Backcountry's options are return with refund, contact Thule directly, or exchange. This is super annoying and a waste of time, but I'll contact Thule then decide whether the return or exchange. I expected better from Backcountry, and a big name brand like Thule that carries such a hefty price tag for a bike rack.

      Solid Rack

Nice solid rack, seems really stable. Goes together fairly quickly and is easily adjustable to fit just about any bike. I bought 2, and I am thinking of getting a 3rd one so that I have an excuse to buy another bike.

        Saves space

This is a great space saver, but adjusting the height of the arms is a little strange. We've got two lighter bikes on the top set of arms, and they seem to be supporting the weight just fine. Worth the investment if you have limited storage space in your house.

How well will this bike stacker support 2 Electra Townies?

        Excellent space-saver!

The Thule Universal Bike Stacker is fantastic. Setting it up by myself was a bit of a struggle, but now that it's up, it's great. I've got two of our bikes on it, which saves us a ton of space in our little apartment. It holds my Kona hardtail on top and my boyfriend's Peugeot road bike on bottom. They both fit on the sliding holders, and the adjustable arms made it easy to get them on there comfortably. I'm so happy with my stacker!

The photo is of a SportRack Adjustable Bike Stand, not the Thule Bike Stacker. They are very similar, but I want to make sure I get Thule. Are they the same?

Hey James, sorry for any confusion. Thule acquired SportRack about a year ago. The rack is identical, and though it is a Thule product it does come with a SportRack label on it. Let us know if you have any other questions on there. You can reach us directly at 888 276 7130

You could probably play hangman with it.

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

It's tough. I needed something to hang my two bikes up inside as we all know we don't keep our babies outside. If you're currently keeping your baby outside, you should be ashamed...just...ashamed. Luckily there is hope as this is the product for you. It holds two Large frame MTN bikes just fine.

Further, I sold one bike and now only have one. I played around with the fully adjustable arms and am able to hang it by the wheel and a portion of the frame in a vertical position. My bike now fits snugly behind a door.

One or two bikes, it's great!

Best 2-bike vertical rack I could find

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Very stable. Condo living has very limited storage, so this is in my living room next to the patio door. Just my opinion, but a Merckx road bike looks nicer than the art on the wall. I actually have 3 bikes on this - 2 road bikes and my son's 20" wheel Hot Rock also hanging on the bottom bars.

I had to add a couple of fender washers between the bolts to get this 100% level and vertical - but that was very minor.

It does what it says very well

Low profile, looks good and easy to assemble. I use it to store 2 road bikes, but its easily sturdy enough to hold my 40lbs freeride rig.

Thule doesn't disappoint. This rack is made well and of great quality. The independently adjustable arms make it easy to fit different bikes. Easy to assemble.
