Description

Why We Like The EasyFold XT Bike Carrier

Thule's EasyFold XT Bike Carrier offers a fully foldable, and removable, two-bike hitch rack that is as convenient as it is sturdy. Adapting to the ever-changing bike landscape, the EasyFold XT's high-load capacity allows transport of e-bikes and heavy mountain bikes, while the mounting of said heavy bikes is made easy through detachable bike arms with lockable Thule AcuTight torque limiter knobs that click when optimal torque is reached.

Thule made sure to give a large distance between the wheel holders to accommodate bikes with large wheel bases, as well as a small, foldable platform that you can stand on for improved accessibility. Not to mention that you can still access the trunk when the bikes are mounted thanks to a smart foot pedal tilt that lowers them horizontally out of the way when you need to grab gear. Plus,  you can lock your bikes to the bike rack and your bike rack to the receiver with the included Thule locks when you need to get gas or a bite to eat.

  • Foldable, compact, and easy-to-use hitch rack for bikes of all sizes
  • High-load capacity holds two bikes, up to 65lbs each
  • Fully foldable for convenient mounting, handling and storage
  • AcuTight torque knobs click when optimal torque is reached
  • Wheel straps with adjustable pump buckles secure the wheels
  • Smart foot pedal tilt moves bike away from trunk for easy access
  • Foldable bike loading ramp integrates into rack for convenient storage
  • Included bike locks secure bikes to rack, and rack to receiver

I Love this E Bike rack

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Fit:
True to size

I have a Townie E bike with fenders and this rack fit the job to carry 2 E bikes. Who ever designed it thought everything out. it has a ramp to assist loading and unloading, that stores within the rack. The hitch connection couldn’t be easier no wrench needed, easy to take off and put on and folds up like a suitcase with wheels for easy storage... Even the tire straps store in the rack so they are not flopping around when not in use. this rack is pricey, but worth every dollar.. This rack is hard to find, Thule can’t keep them in stock, I was lucky to find this one thru backcountry.. Great to deal with free 2 day shipping.. I highly recommend...

E Bike Buyers Beware

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Fit:
Runs small

We ordered this bike rack because the description says it is easy to use. That is far from the truth. But I will go through other issues with it before addressing ease of use. First of all, the plastic wheels on the base are poorly constructed, brittle, and break easily. We didn’t know they were broken when we got it until we used it the first time. The support clamps are of little or no use for a bike that isn’t of classic, tubular design. The support straps provided do not fit fat tires, so we had to order some from another company. The folding ramp to put the bikes on the rack are worthless. Finally, it is very difficult to use because the clearance from one bike to the other is insufficient. We had to start over again and again to put the bikes on the rack because the pedals wouldn’t fit. For us, the rack was a waste of money and Backcountry will not provide even a partial refund. Save your money and for heavier fat tire e bikes with fat tires, buy a much cheaper dirt bike rack.
