Upgrade those goofy things on your roof into a full-capacity gear-carrying system.

If you’ve ever wondered what to do with those goofy bars running front to back on your car, then the Thule Complete CrossRoad System will help turn those raised factory side rails into a multi-purpose gear-carrying machine. Four adjustable feet conform to your current side rails, and two square 50-inch load bars are rubberized for weather resistance and to keep your gear from getting scratched. Four locks are included with the feet to secure the CrossRoad System to your side rails.

So far so good

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Haven't used this rack much but recently installed it on my car and loved how easily it went on. Super simple and took all of 10 minutes to get situated. Lock cores are included as well which is a major plus.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These cross bars are a necessity for any of your roof rack needs. Install was easy and you never need to adjust them. Unfortunately, they do stick out pretty far off the roof of my outback. All in all great bars that will last you the lifetime of your vehicle.

Easy install, secure fit!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Bought the 50" for my 2014 cherokee latitude, and they fit perfectly with not too much overhang. Easy instructions to install, took me about 20 minutes to (with a broken finger). As mentioned in some of the other reviews, I did notice a slight whistle at highway speeds, but nothing too distracting. This can be fixed by using a compatible fairing. Great pair with my THULE slide top 6 person ski rack.

No directions needed

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

If you like to tackle things like most men out there, directions aren't needed until you break the item you are trying to put together. Thule went above and beyond and made this thing idiot proof. get the ideal easy to use base rack for all your needs down the road

Easy to install and very secure

I've got these mounted on my car (2006 Toyota Rav4) and have used them on my wife's car as well (2005 Subaru Outback). These are a great option for cars with factory rails on the roof. They're easy to install and seem incredibly secure. I really like the fact that the wrench you need for the installation is built into the rack (it's attached to the inside of the end cap on the footing) - it's really nice to not have to keep track of small parts. Both of our cars came with factory installed cross bars, but the Thule system is way more secure, especially when you have heavier loads on the roof or a large roof box.

I haven't had a ton of issues with wind noise from these, but I typically have a roof box on them or don't have them installed on my car at all. The few times that I had these installed without the roof box, the wind noise was more noticeable but I was able to deal with it after moving the cross bars around a bit.

does this kit come with the locks?

Yes. "Includes two 50-inch load bars, four CrossRoad feet, four locks"

Super Solid, Easy to Install

These are perfect for vehicles with factory roof racks. I have installed it on a Chevy Blazer and Toyota Sienna. They are quick to install, relatively speaking. My only grip is wind noise. Without the wind fairing my kids can't stand to have to rack on the vehicle. I've had this since 2006 and it is still in good condition.

do they work with board racks , also would they fit on my subaru

It would depend on the board rack, but definitely would if it is a Thule board rack. The Thule website says they would fit, but cautions that the hatchback might not be able to open all the way. I have this problem with my's not a huge deal, you just have to remember to duck.

i would have to check what brand my rack is , but your talking about when your boards are in the rack you cant open the hatch back , i have an outback

Great but...LOUD!

I purchased the Thule complete CrossRoad System and it was very easy to install. Went onto my Jeep Grand Cherokee with no problems in about 15-20mins. The only downside that I've seen (actually heard) at this point is that the wind noise coming off these things is loud! Going to have to buy a compatible fairing to cut down on the noise, a purchase I wasn't really planning on. So if you're considering buying these, while they're easy and a great product, keep in mind you may have to spend some extra $$ to silence the noise.

Agreed. I was very surprised by how much noise the cross bars created.
