Clip on some speed.
Sure you might invest in full carbon aero base bars and extensions, with "s-bends" or "straight-bars," and microscopically small brake levers to minimize your frontal profile. But when push comes to shove, if you spend more time holding the bull horns than resting in your aerobars, you are doing all that wind-cheating technology a disservice. Syntace's C3 bars were designed so that your comfort in the aero position is first and foremost in mind, so that you'll stay there from the beginning of the race to the end.
The first thing you'll notice about the Syntace C3 is that the extensions feature a double helix bend. This shape places your wrists in a comfortable position that allows a fast and flat back. A flatter back allows the air to stay connected to your back longer in order to lengthen your slipstream so that there is less turbulence. This, in turn, makes you more aerodynamic. Additionally, the angle of the extensions, which slopes down under the palms by about 20 degrees, provides the optimal angle to pull up on to counter high pedal pressure. To this end, the bars were constructed with aluminum. This provides a durable and lightweight bar that clamps easily onto your existing 31.8mm drop handlebars. They are adjustable in length with the Syntace Speed Cutter.
To allow for even more customization, the elbow pads are adjustable to accommodate a variety of shoulder widths. Being able to keep your chest open allows deeper breathing and prevents strain. They adjust a total of 84mm side to side.
The Syntace C3 Clip is available in sizes Small, Medium, and Large and in the color Black.
