Matchbox Tailor Cage HV1.5
Loading tons of gear in your hydration pack might be your pre-ride ritual, but for the rest of us, we like to just grab our packs and go. There is one drawback to this application, admittedly, which is never totally knowing what you have on hand, potentially leaving you without a multi-tool or pump deep in the backwoods of your trail network when you have a mechanical failure. With the Syncros Matchbox Tailor Cage HV1.5 your worries can be whisked away, as this compact bottle cage packs you in with tools and a pump that keep you going when you need support on the trail. The bottle cage features a low-profile multitool that is stowed within it, sorting you out with 10 different tools that can be used trailside, and a compact, high-volume pump for quick flat repairs. The bottle cage is available for both right and left-handed folks, so you can pick your favorite side for easy bottle access on the bike.
- A multi-use bottle cage that hosts tools and pump
- Durable nylon and fiberglass stand up to the trail
- Multi-tool packs into cage and offers 10 tools for trail use
- Get pumped up with high-volume mini pump
- Pump is equipped for both Presta and Schrader valves

Good idea, poor execution
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
This was a gift for my son, he did research and read reviews and decided this was a good way to carry some necessary tools on shorter rides without a pack. Unfortunately it broke on his first day. He used the tools and when he went to slide it back in the brittle plastic clip that holds it in place snapped off. We are now returning it and looking for a better option. Some other observations: he liked the shape and function of the water bottle cage, the quality of the tools is low (the polish on the tools chipped on first use).

not for the weight weeny
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
With integrated carry tool options becoming increasing popular with the advent of Specialized's Swat Box, the OneUp EDC, and the Voile strap, there is no shortage of option out there. If you are looking for a hassle free, no-nonsense option that won't break the bank for you trail bike, look no further. This carries everything you may need in fix-it scenario for a day excursion. It is easy to use and easy to install. My only gripe is that it is not the lightest of options, but this could possibly be remedied by filling your tires with helium.
