Description

Aspire Seven Sock

With a seven inch cuff, these Swiftwick Aspire Seven Socks reach well into tall sock territory. Whatever your reasons -- aesthetics, compression benefit, warmth, protection -- they're a great length, reaching just under the calf.

The Aspire Socks are created by a 200-needle machine process that yields a high density, seamless knit fabric. The process allows variability in the finished knit of the socks, as different parts meet different performance requirements. For example, the cushioned footbed gives way to the thin channeled upper -- both components playing a crucial role to increase your comfort. When you slip into a pair of Aspire Socks, you'll immediately feel that they're tailored for your feet. The arch band offers snug support in the midfoot, and the Y-shaped heel contour assures no bunching or overstretched feeling in the back.

The dense nature of the material all but guarantees durability when combined with the abrasion resistant properties of Olefin, one of the prime components of the foot of the sock. Olefin is a lightweight polypropylene fiber that Swiftwick sources from US manufacturers. Then the socks are created in Tennessee in Swiftwick's own factory, where they can oversee every step of the process to ensure tight quality control. The Olefin wicks like crazy to keep your feet dry, but removing moisture from your skin is only half the story. Olefin is also hydrophobic and will not absorb water, so the moisture transfer is complete all the way to the outside of the sock. You'll stay dry, comfortable, and blister free since the socks move with your feet and minimize (or eliminate) abrasion against your skin.

Several knitting patterns in the footbed and cuff give the Aspire sock a compression nature which promotes blood flow in the feet, improving flow throughout the lower legs. And as you might guess, improved vascular performance means reduced fatigue and speedier recovery. The Swiftwick Aspire Seven Socks are available in Black, Grey, and White and come in four sizes from Small to X-Large. It's worth noting that the fibers used in Swiftwick socks are colored during their creation. In comparison to socks that are dyed after knitting, this makes Swiftwick socks stronger and more durable.

  • Synthetic Olefin fiber dries quickly, breathes, wicks moisture, and resists the growth of odor-causing microbes while also remaining impervious to chemicals and perspiration
  • This durable, versatile polymer that won the Nobel Prize in 1996 produces very little waste during manufacturing, and is easily recyclable to reduce environmental impact
  • Women-specific design features a narrower foot to match your foot shape (also works with narrow-footed men)
  • Seamless prevents rubbing and blistering during long rides or runs
  • Olefin toe and heel provide long-lasting durability as well as great breathability
  • Nylon and spandex arch hugs your foot's natural shape so it doesn't move as you exercise
  • Y-Heel contour anchors the heel and moves with your foot, not with your shoe's collar
  • Lightweight top of foot encourages ample breathability and isn't bulky
  • Thicker Olefin sole provides extra breathability and a little cushioning to reduce impact
  • Compression cuff doesn't move no matter what you do with your summer day
  • Ankle height with seven-inch cuff prevents collar rubbing from running, cycling, or golf shoes and deters chain-to-ankle contact

  • Olefin yarn
  • Women-specific fit
  • Seamless construction
  • 7” height

I have definitely found the right height of sock. They are the best fitting on the ankle/calf/leg. They seem to hug the leg portion very well and promote good circulation through the foot. The majority of my sock collection are from the GCN Cycling Club monthly sock. While those are good, these are way better. I'm going to continue to be buying these socks!

If you are looking for new socks, there is no reason not to give these a try if you haven't already. In my experience, they are the most comfortable socks out there. Not only that, but they are pretty durable as well. I have one pair that I've had for a few seasons, and they are still going strong. If you want a sock that offers good compression and breathability, this is the one for you. Also, the 7" length is undoubtedly the best length they offer.

Right out of the gate Swiftwick has me! Made in the USA and a Tommy Boy guarantee right front and center "the best socks you will ever wear guaranteed"! It says it right on the package and it's legit!!! We all know what it's like out on the ride smashing it out in the heat sweat dripping all over the place, running out of water, your last gel hours ago and no recovery drink in site. You get home strip the chamois, jersey and the HR strap, but wait a minute..... These socks are so comfortable you just plop down in the chair, relax and just bask in the awesomeness that is Swiftwick Aspire! Hands down Swiftwick is my go to sock in the Aspire, Vision or Pursuit in the seven inch length. Don't believe me..... get a pair and see if these are not the socks that you grab for that century ride maybe that A group ride you've been struggling to stay in the pack for or that 45m fitness test you got on the trainer that you've been dreading all week since your coach put it on the schedule. Maybe that's what they mean in the name Aspire.... now while you ponder that deep thought i'm going for a ride.

Every time I go to buy a different pair of socks, I end up with the white Aspire 7 in my cart. Pair these puppies with some white shoes and you have a match made in heaven. The logo is not so huge that it's the only thing you see on the socks. Instead, it accents nicely with your shoes, whichever brand they might be. Compression is great and they've lasted me well over the life of any other socks I've used without showing nearly the same signs of wear and tear.

The Perfect Sock for hot weather

This review really is a long time coming. I was introduced to Swiftwick about 10years ago by a friend of mine who started carrying them at his shop. Now, Swiftwick is the only brand of sock that I buy. I started with the Pursuit Fours and that’s what got me hooked. Now my drawer is full of Visions and Aspires along with the Pursuits! The Vision has become my GoTo sock when the furnace kicks on here in Central Texas. My feet never get hot in these socks and they wick sweat like crazy! The cuff never slips and has the perfect amount of compression. My favorite thing about these and every other Swiftwick sock is the way they fit my feet perfectly around my toes. There’s NEVER any bunching or extra material on either side of my toes. It’s like they were custom made for my feet. I wear a size large and a US size 10. I’d like a few different colors but that’s the only area they could improve. Get some!

These socks have great compression. I also love the height - not too high or low. They take sweat well and dry really fast. These work well for warm weather riding.

I really like the compression and fit, and that they don't slide down. Some thought went into the stitching and manufacturing, makes for a solid pair of socks.

Great socks. Does exactly what a cycling sock needs to do: protects the foot from your cycling shoes while pedaling your heart out. Almost would have been five stars from me, but I received a medium sock and a large sock. I'm not joking when I say it took me until well after my return window to find this out... To be fair, I was using them just fine until I noticed it. I would've preferred a large size for both because I wear size 13 shoes. At any rate, exceptional socks regardless of size.

In my mind, there are only two real options when it comes to socks, Swiftwick Aspires or Swiftwick Visions. The aspire, which this review will focus on, is a compressive sock that fixes any of the "burning toe" sensation that I have dealt with in the past. The cuff length at 7 inches looks super pro and they last FOREVER. I have pairs that are a couple years old and look almost new, totally worth the investment. Sizing: I wear a size 42 in specialized & giro shoes which ends up being a size 9 in running shoes and got the medium. That was definitely the correct choice.

Less than optimal socks actually bother me. That includes height, colour, level of compression and their ability to stay up. I believe Swiftwick may have made the best sock I’ve ever worn. They offer a variety of heights, although I wear mine high. Colours are simple and effective (white for road, black for gravel and MTB). Compression and their ability to stay up is outstanding. An outstanding product that I’ll continue to buy over all other brands. I’ve found my sock brand for life.

Swiftwick is the BEST! I've been wearing them for years for cycling, running, and daily use. If they happen to get wet, they dry super quick. There is also an added touch of minimal padding in the right places. Swiftwick has stole my heart in the sock department.

These Swiftwick socks are super durable. Slowly converting my entire cycling sock collection to this model. The compression on this sock is the perfect amount, and the 7” cuff provides nice brush protection on the trails.

Maybe the best? At least as good as Assos, definitely better than Defeet. The only other sock that stands out in my mind as competitive is the Giro Hrc Team. Stay tuned for updates....

I love these socks. They are the perfect thickness to be slightly cushioning and also vented well. I use them to run and to cycle in and they do great. I've have them for a couple months and they have held up really well. I like the length although that is very much a personal preference. Kinda the same height as Nike dri fit socks if that helps at all.

If you're the type that says "I draw the line when it comes to buying "Cycling" socks", let me be the first one to tell you that you should give Swiftwick socks a try...If I'm wrong, then return them. Most compression sock manufacturers focus on the heel to the knee. What I dig about Swiftwick is their love for feet and making a sock that helps blood-flow in your foot. You can read more about Managed Compression on Swiftwick's website. Here's the reason I choose these socks over others in my sock drawer: COMFORT My foot is between two different sizes in most cycling shoes, the fact that Swiftwick ASPIRE socks are designed with their contour focused stitching through 200 needle construction, allows me to fit perfectly in both my mountain bike shoes and my road shoes. On a side note: These are definitely the first socks I reach for when I dig around my sock drawer. I, like most of you, have a drawer dedicated to my Cycling socks. My other socks from the days before I discovered Swiftwick go completely neglected and have dust on them. It's come to the point where I love these socks so much, that I use them for any highfalutin affair. Whether I'm on a bike, hiking, or sportin the socks with sandals, the Swiftwick Sevens are what I wear everytime! FACT. PROS: + Made in America - Enough Said. I'd buy Swiftwick for this reason alone. + My feet can breathe and don't come out looking like prunes after a long ride + My entire foot gets to benefit from Compression + No color fading after 100+ washes + Socks are not stretched out after 100+ rides Do yourself, and the guy riding behind you, a favor... buy these bad boys.

Swiftwick socks are simply the best. We should all have the pleasure of staying extremely comfortable and cool on summer rides, while honing enviously high tan lines that tuck perfectly under the calf muscles. Cover up those achilles and put these in your sock drawer.

Swiftwick socks are fantastic. Nice and snug to your leg, no sliding up and down., and durable to withstand many wash cycles. It is one of those socks that you could feasibly buy 2-3 pairs and rotate those through consistently and not see the sock break down. For those of you that wear out socks and take pride in it... Good luck wearing these ones out... Happy cruising out there!
