Neither rain nor sleet nor dark of night.
Maybe low-light, drizzly situations aren't the best time for cycling, but sometimes our schedules dictate that we ride. Whether it's an early commute on a rainy day or a quick, after-work ride to shake the spreadsheets out of your legs, the Sugoi Zap Women's Bike Jacket represents a bold new way to stay visible and dry on rides in inclement weather. Get out and be seen.
The newly redesigned Zap Jacket premiers what Sugoi is calling Pixel Woven fabric, which incorporates micro-glass beads into the actual material. Before Sugoi's Pixel, our only recourse in low-light situations has been a few strips of reflective material that, hopefully, catch light from headlights or street lamps at the right time. Even previous iterations of the Zap Bike Jacket were only given reflective highlights. But with Pixel, the entire jacket is reflective, from collar to hem, shoulder to cuff.
The Zap Bike Jacket also provides a high degree of less-revolutionary but equally appreciated water resistance thanks to its polyurethane component, and its exaggerated sleeves and rear hem keep your wrists dry and protect your back and saddle from the rooster tail of water that'll be pinwheeling off your rear tire in the rain. (Your riding companions remain unprotected — but, if they don't like it, remind them that they can always take a pull or get off your wheel.) The full-length front zip is waterproof and the seams are taped to make sure there are no leaks. The rear pocket also zips shut to protect your personal effects.
The Sugoi Zap Women's Bike Jacket is available in five sizes ranging from X-Small to X-Large, and in the colors Black and Super Pink.

Incredibly Waterproof with Great Lining
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: Small
This jacket SAVED me on the bike portion of a Half Ironman. It started POURING rain for 3 hours, and this jacket actually kept me dry throughout it. The only downside is that there are not front pockets, but there is a roomy pocket in the back for supplies that keeps your food / phone etc. dry.
My favorite part about this jacket is the inner lining, which helps make it so that you don't feel like you are wearing a trash bag. The jacket does not stick to your skin that way.
100% would recommend this jacket... I was the only person with a dry shirt and sports bra thanks to preparing with this awesome jacket.
- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
- Fit: True to size
I got this as a gift for my mom who does a lot of urban biking. She is a very stylish lady and the basic get her from point A to point B dry and reflective jacket just was not good enough. This jacket struck that perfect balance of functionality and style. The waterproof value has been leak proof thus far. Where this coat really shines is in how reflective it is. In bright conditions, it looks like a pretty normal jacket. However, when you shine a light on it it is bright! You don't get just a few accent reflective pieces. You get your entire torso illuminated. The truly impressive part of this coat is that she will actually wear it in public once she gets to her destination. This is a lady who will pack around extra clothes just to look her best when she gets to where she is going. With this jacket, she does not feel the need to do that. The sizing on this seemed true to size. I feel better knowing my mom will be safer and seen by traffic.
