Description

RS Pro Bib Short

Upgrading your bib shorts for the start of the new season is an exciting change: the loyal pair of bibs that have seen you through endless rides and miles of races are now undeniably reaching the end of their lifespan, and putting on a brand new pair has finally allowed you to fully appreciate the extent to which your old ones had worn out. Sugoi's RS Pro Bib Shorts embody some of the advancements bib short construction has undergone since you bought your last pair, and with their versatile 8.5in inseam and Sugoi's convenient "Pit Stop" strap design, the RS Pro's are more than ready to fill the void left in your wardrobe by the retirement of your old standby bibs.

Sugoi uses a polyester blend to construct the shorts, constructing the outer thigh panels with its Ultra Aero fabric to help air move as efficiently as possible over the surface of the fabric. The contoured, form-fitting cut of the shorts further aids in accomplishing this goal by eliminating ridges or bunches in the fabric, making the RS Pro well-adapted to a road race. The clips on the minimal bib straps that Sugoi refers to as its "Pit Stop" design promise to lessen the dread when you know you can't avoid stopping to answer to nature before a race starts or in the middle of a long training ride, and the Formula FX women's chamois provides support and cushioning in the saddle on a seam-free surface that won't inhibit your ability to spin the pedals in a race.

  • An aerodynamic bib short to start a season off right
  • Smooth and snug Ultra Aero fabric for a race fit
  • Poron Foam layered chamois adds extra sit bone support
  • Invisa-chamois eliminates stitch lines for stylish siluouette
  • Silicone leg gripper band offers a no-fuss clean fit
  • Pitstop 2 technology for easy bathroom breaks

Great for the mileage junkies

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Fit:
True to size

The chamois pad stays put underneath my seat bones, and doesn't smoosh out the back, and there is a great amount of front padding so I don't have to rock back onto my sit-bones to give my pubic bone a break. They are flattering too! The way the seems are stitched gives the shorts a bit of a pattern to break up the black...the material around the hips is super stretchy too, so your hips aren't restricted at all. (I'm hippie, so this is usually a problem for me) The cuffs also don't squeeze my legs in a way that gives the little bubble above cuff. (maybe you know what I referring to) I bought these to be a back up race pair because they are similar to my colors, but I'm thinking I'll be using these quite a bit more often, cause I wore them all day a still liked them!

Learned to love them

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

They run a bit big (XS too big on me), and sure the padding is thick. BUT these shorts are amazing on the ride! So comfortable. Importantly, *TMI alert* you can pee by pulling the bibs down over your butt, so no need to get undressed. A+ (5'6", 110 lbs)

Long-torso bib WIN!

I've used it several times

For a long torso woman, bibs are almost impossible. But these worked - straps long enough and no riding into places no bibs should go. Also, excellent padding - placement, thickness, firmness - which I needed after a winter of excess trainer time created some pressure point issues AKA saddle sores. Now I can live the bib life. BOOM.

Like Wearing a Diaper

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

I really wanted to love these, but I couldn't even walk in them because the chamois was so big. Like, John Wayne gunslinger, big. Super disappointed, because my SO has worn SUGOi for 20 years; and I had a pair of pull-on shorts that I adored (before I wore them out!)

The shorts felt that way to me too when i tried them on. I trusted they would improve so i wore them. On the first ride the chamois felt a little thick while standing around, but not in the saddle. Washed them that night, hung them to dry, and wore them again the next day. The chamois was more molded to me and definitely lost the diaper-feel. About to buy a second pair so I'm not stuck doing laundry every day. I really think it was the first wash that made the difference.
