Stride to ride.

While the industry typically uses "entry-level" as shorthand for a non-race bike, we can assert with comfort and confidence that the custom grips, saddles, and other features that set Strider's lighter, more expensive models apart from the "entry-level" 12 Classic Balance Bike probably won't be missed. The 12 Classic is designed for aspiring cyclists from 18 months to 3 years of age, providing a platform to transition from striding to coasting in order to learn the balance and handling skills necessary for eventually piloting a proper bicycle.

The balance bike's sturdy frame is rounded off with flat-free tires, an adjustable seatpost, footrests for gliding, and brake mounts so that — as the young rider's coasting skills increase — a rear brake can be added to keep things in check.

Best Way to Start

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Bought this bike for my nephew who saw everyone else on a bike and wanted one too. This is the best way to learn for him as he learns to scoot it around first and then learns to balance the bike after he gets more use to it. He is a tall boy for his age so I should gone a little bigger but we were still able to raise the seat and it worked out real well for him.

Start them young

I purchased this as a gift for my daughter's 2nd birthday and she took to it very quickly. I genuinely believe this is a great alternative to training wheels, and you can start their training at an earlier age.

Her first bike.

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Only two years old and on her first hour could balance and steer with ease. A lot of fun and good times coming her way.

Best first bike ever!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Our son rode one of these from age of 18 months through 5. It was difficult to switch him to pedals because he was so used to pushing.. but after a day of the pedal bike he was off with no training wheels. It's amazing what these bikes do for teaching balance and turning!!

Awesome first bike

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

We got this for our son (2.5) for Christmas this year, and since there has been a ton of snow, we haven't taken it outside yet, but he can ride it inside the house like a champ already!
It is super easy to set up, adjust the seat, and get going on! Helps any toddler get their balance down to get ready for an upgrade to a bike with pedals faster. Definitely recommend!

Perfect starter bike

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Bought this for my niece for her birthday. She loves cruising around on it. Her parents have to hide it from her because if she see's it, she wants to ride it. Definitely the best starter bike.

Perfect starter

Bought for my nephew, he is 3 years old. It took him about a month to get a hang of it, but now he is cousin all over.

Perfect starter

Perfect First Bike

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought this as a gift for my cousin's kid. She is 2yrs old and absolutely loves riding it around, no fit issues. The red color is a solid choice for boys and girls.

Coolest kid in town!

Saw a toddler in PC rocking one of these and knew I had to get it for my nephew. He is a little young to ride it now, but cant wait to see him shred.

Fun!

Bought this for our 18 month old daughter. She sees us on our bikes so she likes having her own. She's still getting the hang of it but I think it will really help her with bike balance over time. And she has fun with it which is the best part.

    18 month old

My kid is almost 19 months and loves this bike. I have to hold onto it right now for him, but he is sitting on the seat and I have him put his feet up to help him get comfortable on it. I don't really know the best way to transition them into it so this is working for us right now and for his size.

      His First Bike!

I got this for my God Son's 2nd Birthday and he loves it. He was so excited that he started riding it around the house right away without any instruction or training! Who needs training wheels when you start riding on a Strider!

        Gotta Start Em Young!

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The Strider 12 Classic Balance Bike is flat out amazing as a big use bike from the four wheeled infant bikes to possibly not even using training wheels on a kids' bike. The design is almost flawless when it come to growing the bike while the child grows so that the bike lasts from 18 months to 5 years old. The possible attachments and the sizing adjustment is eaesy througha one-size allen wrench and the colors, while a bit dull at times, are easy on the eyes. Only word of caution is that the fringe ages can come to size the bike weirdly for the little one so really take the time to size right for maximum enjoyment.

        Great for Kids

        • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Easy to put together and easy to adjust. Good quality. Great for kids to learn balance and move into a regular bike. Lightweight so easy for the kids to pick up and handle.

        The Future is Among Us

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Kiddos need to ride from the moment they can walk. Get them on this little gem and they will be your best trail buddy in the future.

        Perfect for the Kiddo

This is a great product. Well thought out, easy to setup and adjust, and very durable. My 2 year old is still figuring the thing out, but it's easy to adjust it to his height, and he's getting better at it each day. This will teach him balance and give him confidence to transition over to a pedal bike when he's ready. I don't know if he or I am more excited about it.

          Best thing ever!

My grandchild was trying to ride a bike without training wheels and couldn't get the hang of it so I bought this and she learned in a couple of hours! It is the greatest thing ever!

            Money Well Spent

Hard to give this more praise than it has already received. We got this for our 2 year old and she enjoys it. She hasn't quite gotten the stride action down, but she is getting better and better. It is incredibly adjustable, so I foresee her getting plenty of use out of it.

              Money Well Spent

              Raddest little ripper!!

This is the coolest bike for kids learning to balance! This works on so many more motor skills than you think! I started my daughter on this at 18 months and will grow with her until she is about five if I need it. The extra taller seat allows for more range.
