A Team Player.
Eliminate flats from goatheads and snakebites with Stan's Iron Cross Team Road Wheelset and enjoy the companies renowned tubeless technology. This wheelset tucks into the middle of Stan's Iron Cross line of road disc, cyclocross, and gravel wheels and features a robust 28 front and 32 rear spoke count for trouble free rides and wide and low-profile rims for you get the most out of your tires.
The Iron Cross Team wheels are designed for wider road, gravel, and cross rubber and utilize Stan's trademark Bead Socket Technology (BST) with low profile sidewalls providing a better seat area for the tire bead. You can use these wheels with standard clincher and tubes, but we figure if you are reading about these, you are looking to enjoy the benefits of tubeless. When setup sans tube, BST creates an air tight seal and allows the tire's sidewall to expand to its true, rounder, and more effective profile. This results in more traction on those tricky off-camber sections and less rolling resistance when cruising in the pack. BST technology results in running up to 30% lower air pressure versus a standard clincher wheel so you'll reap more stability, better handling, solid cornering, and better overall control. The added benefit of running sealant in the tires mean punctures will get sealed often without you even knowing it. The rims ship complete with Stan's yellow rim tape and Presta valves already installed for tubeless use.
At the heart of the Iron Cross Team wheels is the Neo hub spinning on wide stance stainless steel bearings with triple bearing axle support for more strength and support. The Durasync system engages 6 pawls simultaneously onto the forged steel ratchet ring for 36 points of contact and 10-degree engagement. Perfect for grabbing the holeshot after the gun goes off or getting back on the gas to drop a competitor after the barriers. The Neo hubs are finished with Stan's SealLock end caps for easy conversion if you switch bikes down the road.
Joining the hubs to the rims are Sapim Force spokes. The spokes are butted in the middle to save weight and increase ride comfort while still durable for disc brake use and the rigors of off road riding. The sensible spoke count is slightly more aero and lighter and the front (28h) and increased in the rear (32h) for greater stiffness and durability.
Options exist for Shimano, Campy, SRAM XD drivers and 6-bolt and Centerlock rotor mounting.
