Arch CB7 27.5in Boost Wheel

These days it seems like tires are getting wider and wider, with rims following suit to catch up. This is great if you like the rock-crawler style handling of 2.6in or wider tires. That being said, many of us still prefer the precise handling and faster rolling speed of 2.35in tires, hence Stan's NoTubes created the Arch CB7 27.5in Boost Wheel. The carbon fiber Arch CB7's are light enough for trail riding, yet strong enough for enduro racing, with a 26mm internal width that gives your 2.35in tires plenty of cornering bite without flattening the tread profile.

The Arch CB7 wheels use Stan's WideRight philosophy to give your tires the correct profile. WideRight is essentially referring to the extensive research Stan's has done to determine the best rim width for a given tire size. Rims that are too narrow don't provide enough sidewall support and create a less stable tire shape. Rims that are too wide flatten the tread profile, decreasing the effectiveness of the cornering knobs and putting more impact force onto the rim. Stan's settles on 26mm internal width for the Arch CB7 wheels, ensuring your 2.25 - 2.5in tires are the right shape, with plenty of sidewall support and cornering bite.

Some carbon wheels are overly stiff with a tendency to deflect upon impact, sending your energy upward and backward, resulting in a harsh ride with less forward momentum. Stan's helps to cure these issues by engineering 10mm of vertical compliance into the Arch CB7 rim, a system they call RiACT. RiACT uses a low-profile rim shape and a proprietary carbon layup to help the rim better absorb impacts and vibration, smoothing the ride and preserving more of your momentum. Stan's claims RiACT makes the Arch CB7 rim both stronger and faster, with 30% better lateral stiffness than their aluminum counterparts.

Stan's NoTubes was one of the original players in the tubeless game. Their patented Bead Socket Technology (BST) is part of their success. BST rims have a shallow center channel, allowing the tire to more easily transition from the center channel to the bead wall during inflation. Stan's claims this makes it possible to do a tubeless setup with just a floor pump. Once the tire is seated, the "socket" shape firmly secures the bead to create a more effective seal. Because of the secure fit of the BST design, Stan's is able to make the sidewall of the rim shallower. This saves weight, improves strength, and allows the tire to expand to its true round shape for better overall performance.
