Great power meter.
- I've put it through the wringer
- 5` 10"
- 155 lbs
Worked perfect for me straight out of the box. I have put over 1500 miles on it so far and haven't had any issues at all. Connectivity for both Bluetooth and ANT+ have been flawless. I do live in Southern California so I have only ridden it in warm dry weather, I have not tested it in wet conditions yet. I have run analysis comparing power readings of right sided Stages (I only have the drive side power meter right now) and Wahoo Kickr (2017) and the Stages seems to measure about 5-7% lower. Not sure if that is the Kickr or Stages that is off but it has been pretty consistent which is what really matters. I have ordered the left crank as well now, so I may update this once I receive that and get some experience but overall the Drive side powermeter is doing great with no issues so it seems like Stages fixed what ever was wrong with the previous versions.

Is it a dual sided power meter ?

This is drive side only, feel free to reach out a Gearhead if you would like to talk through the best options for you for a dual sided power meter.

Right side. It can be paired with a left side PM or used by itself. Useful for bikes with BB-mounted rim brakes.

Competitive cyclist offers no support!
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
The unit is not working out of the box. I chat up my friendly competitive cyclist rep to get an exchange. I was told in an unfriendly way that corp policy is to not offer support on this product and that I need to go directly to the manufacturer. You are not taking care of your customer or standing behind the product you sell. I will be going elsewhere for future purchases. I am going to return this product and buy from a company that does support their end user

But, they accepted the return, right? I’ve never had issues with CS taking returns on defective items but they are not set up to service any parts.

I’ve used this crank for two years and find it to be bomb-proof, easy to service (battery change) and trouble free. Have been a Comp Cyclist customer for many years and think they do an amazing job. Likewise, Stages cycling folks are super helpful, prompt, and go above and beyond when I’ve needed their help. Not sure what the issue was with your meter but I am sure Stages can help you figure it out.
