Stages Cycling Shimano Dura-Ace R9100 Dual-Sided Power Meter Crankset $1,299.00
Power is pivotal.
You've been toying with the idea of upgrading your drivetrain to include power, and while most options either pull you away from the sleek appearance of your Dura Ace 9100 groupset, or go beyond the typical breaking the bank to full blown pulverize your upgrade budget for the next 4 years, the Stages Cycling Shimano Dura-Ace R9100 Dual-Sided Power Meter Crankset manages to find the perfect balance, allowing you to train with power, without the crippling debt. This complete dual-sided crankset loads you up with data from a power meter on each leg, enabling you to assess your data to a top level, isolating performance left to right to train better, and harder — all while maintaining the functional beauty of Dura-Ace R9100, with its wide and powerful crank arm and sleek mechanical beauty.
Whether you're currently spinning on a Dura-Ace 9100 crankset, or going for the whole getup as an upgrade out of the gates, the Stages Shimano Dura-Ace R9100 Crankset manages to stay true to the Dura-Ace aesthetic, giving you the same look and feel of the non-power Dura-Ace 9100 crankset, but with a power meter affixed to each side. The power meter is unobtrusive, sitting inside of the non-drive side leg, and on the spider of the drive side crank, adding a nominal 35-grams to Dura-Ace's standard weight. Tucked inside of these little pods, strain gauges and an accelerometers measure force and rotations to deliver power data to your head unit with a claimed accuracy of +/- 1.5%, which is in-line with other quality power meters on the market.
The meter also incorporates Stage's Active Temperature Compensation (ATC), which compensates for the natural expansion and contraction of the strain gauges by adjusting the readings depending on external temperature. ATC accounts for those temperature changes without requiring you to stop pedaling in order to zero the system. Cold often comes with a bit of wet, so Stages set up the power meter with a water resistance rating of IPX7, keeping the internal technology desert dry when the rain falls, and allowing you to keep riding when there's a downpour. While we hope your ride doesn't take a detour through a lake, the IPX7 rating will give you full protection from the wet up to 1-meter under water, for up to 30 minutes. This comes in handy when you're wrapping up a cross race and wondering just how to hose your ride off before lugging it upstairs into your apartment. The power meter is all powered by a two coin cell batteries on each arm, offering up to 175 hours of riding with data, with an easy to replace, tool-free interface on the non-drive-side, and a simple phillips head screw access point on the drive side.

Very poor customer service
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
My first ride in the rain on these cranks and the unit went to crap. I contacted Stages and they seemed interested in helping me. Well that was several days ago and no one person has gotten back to me. It is really sad and disappointing that you spend a lot of money on a product and the company wants nothing to do with you if there is a problem. I hope that the word gets out of how bad the customer service is and people stop wasting their money on these poorly made power cranks.
