Ready to soar.
Recent years have seen the rise of one-by drivetrains bringing the simplicity of a single front chainring to the trail while still allowing some gear changes when things get lumpy. SRAM's new Eagle drivetrain pushes the one-by envelope further with 12 cassette cogs for an even bigger reason to ditch the front derailleur and hop on the one-by train. The SRAM X01 Eagle 12-Speed GXP Direct Mount Boost Crankset puffs the chainline out three millimeters to pair with your Boost-equipped frameset and features an updated tooth shape for confident chain control and efficient power transfer.
Eagle's X-Sync 2 chainring builds on the OG X-Sync chainring's chain retention ability with a few updates coming with claims of even better chain control. As with the original design, each tooth is CNC-machined with a variable thickness from tooth to tooth, which support the chain's inner- and outer-link widths. This lets the chain and chainring essentially lock together as you pedal and pushes away mud with ease. Where the original X-Sync teeth boasted a boxy shape, Eagle's chainring features aggressively profiled teeth that hold the chain like a hungry cyclist fighting for the last piece of pizza before letting it glide back to the cassette for smooth, snag-free spinning.
SRAM utilizes its Carbon Tuned technology to fashion the X01 Eagle arms with a proprietary carbon layup that increases stiffness where it's needed and minimizes excess material for an overall reduction in weight. In contrast to its top-tier XX1 Eagle cousin's hollow core construction, the X01 Eagle crank arms feature a foam core that adds a handful of grams while keeping costs down without impacting responsiveness. The direct-mount chainring interface also affords the option of quickly subbing different sized rings for different shapes of terrain, allowing flexibility to adapt to the day's planned route.
- SRAM reimagines one-by with its groundbreaking 12-speed crankset
- Stiff carbon crank arms efficiently transfer power
- Updated tooth shape locks the chain in line
- Foam core construction reduces weight with a budget in mind
- Easily customize gearing with centerlock chainring

Stiff light and sexy!!!!
SRAM has got it figured out. This thing is dialed! The entire Eagle system is a huge game changer. I can't wait to get out on my bike more.

So far so good
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Cranks seem to be stiff enough for my liking and come with crank boots which was nice to see. Very quiet drive train as well.
