Good Consistent Shifting
Shifting is clean, chain retention is good. Works well with the 11-36 PG-1170 cassette I have on it.

Clean shifting, burly chain retention
- I've used it several times
Recently converted a 2x Shimano drivetrain to a Rival 1 and this derailleur was the part I was most excited about. The build of it is very tough—you can tell simply by noticing the limit screws are turned by a 3mm hex key. Stoked about the friction clutch as well and the cage retention feature for when you are removing or replacing a wheel. This mech indexes cleanly and is a dream to have.

Does esact action work with apex 10sp?

Hey dudes, Can I use this derailleur and the Rival 1 crankset to convert my Apex drivetrain to 1x? Any other components needed?

Woo! 1x road bike!
- I've put it through the wringer
I'm a mountain biker, but I still want to spin road miles. I HATE front derailleurs - the long-cage lets me run the same 10-42 cassette I have on my mountain bikes - great range for long adventure miles.

Sram recently came out with this new version of the Rival 1 rear mech. It features all the great things about the 2.1 mech but with a few small tweaks to make it even better. It's only 8 grams heavier than the Force 1 version so for weight-weenies this one is a no brainer. I got the long cage because I'm running the 10-42.

I find shifting with the 2.1 clutch to be somewhat hard. Do you think the type 3 will fix this issue?
