Does the job - needed an extra
Not much to say here - great product. I wanted an extra battery to carry along in case one of my batteries runs out while on a ride. The new battery just works. Thanks Competitive Cyclist.

Pin clamp will break!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
After x amount of Kilometers the battery pin that clamps at the bottom breaks! and the battery cant stay secure anymore. Wont matter how careful you are, sooner or latter that pin will break. Batteries are expensive, so if you're lucky to find that piece you can glue it back on.

I've gone thru 4 of these batteries with the same exact problem: tab that holds the battery in breaks off, every time on the rear derailleur. Poor design and/or construction in that area. Other than that, it has done its job.

Good backup
If you're paranoid that your eTap batteries will run out any second, picking one of these up is good peace of mind. just drop on in your jersey pocket and you're good to go.

Exactly what it's supposed to be
- Familiarity:

Well built, functional, and does what it's supposed to do. With the standard etap charger, this battery charges up quickly and holds a charge for a surprisingly long distance/time. I've got 3 bikes outfitted with eTap for a total of 6 batteries in operation at any given time. So far this year, I've ridden about 2500 miles and have only charged the batteries a couple of times. Even then, they weren't showing low charge, I just charged them on principle. If you need an eTap battery as a spare, get one. It's a reasonable price. Keep a spare in your car so if you forget your batteries on race day, at least you can work your way through the rear cassette in a race.

A little more detail would be helpful. I have 3 sets of eTap on 3 different bikes and have had zero problems with battery breakage. I'd be curious to know how you could even break these.

Yep I have gone thru 6 already. Sram is aware of the problem but they keep breaking. I called them and they said that they had a bad batch. Totally bogus. They just keep breaking. I need to devise a way to keep them there after they break. I might just go back to mechanical. 100$ every 6 months is not practical. Sram warranty covered the 1st 2 years but now I’d done. I love the system but the battery issue is real. I have met many other cyclists with the same issue.
