SRAMGX XG-1150 11-Speed Cassette
Item # SRM007C
GX XG-1150 11-Speed Cassette
SRAM constructed its GX XG-1150 11-speed Cassette with the wide, 10-42t gear range, which is one of the widest out of any of its competitors — ensuring you can pedal up, and down, just about anything. In fact, the XG-1150 uses the same gear range as SRAM's higher-end offerings, and uses a similar open, debris-clearing design for reliability in wet, muddy conditions. Though it closely resembles SRAM's premium X1 cassette, the XG-1150 costs less than half of its look-alike sibling due to its chromoly steel construction, and it's held together solidly using SRAM's Full Pin system: 11 cogs attached to one another with 123 stainless steel pins.
- Affordable cassette inspired by SRAM's top-tier designs
- Durable steel construction prepared for spills and sends
- Huge gear range provides a cog for every terrain type
- Built to shed mud and function consistently through mud

The thing slaps
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Fit:
- True to size
Works just as well as it's lighter weight brethren but has a smaller price tag. The weight difference is akin to bringing an extra clif or two so it really didn't make sense to shell out for another light weight racey one. In fairness to wear, my last x01 lasted 2500 miles of mixed gravel and single track, I'm only a few hundred into this one but I will say it's not fading in the paint yet.

Wore out quicker than my last one
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
The GX cassette sells at a fair price considering the weight and overall quality; it's hard to justify the next level up. I have generally gotten about a year out of one (about 3000 miles) but this time it lasted 6 months and about 2000 miles. My riding hasn't changed much and the same smaller 4 cogs wore as last time, just sooner than I'd expected. Still, I have yet to find a better option. E*Thirteen is almost onto something with replaceable cogs, but those cost about as much as the XG-1150, so what's the point?

Budget Friendly and SRAM Quality
Great SRAM quality with a pocket friendly price to upgrade my wife's Stumpjumper. Never had a complaint with any SRAM components, ever.

SRAM Wins the Drivetrain War
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
SRAM's drivetrains are amazing. I haven't had any real issues for the last 5 years, can't go wrong with them. And they keep making more budget-friendly options, which I'm grateful for! Woo!

GX 11spd Cassette
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Had to replace a cassette due to being worn down but didn't want to spend $200+ for a new one. This one is decent quality and affordable price. It is a little on the heavy side but for the money its great.

Great Cassette For The Money
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Looking for a burly cassette with reliable but affordable performance? Look no further! This cassette blends solid performance while still being durable against dings, rocks, and falls. I have put this thing through the wringer and it still shifts like a champ. If you have additional questions please feel free to reach out!

This is a solid cassette. It's not the lightest, but it will get the job done, no problem. shifting is great, like always from sram.

A Great Start
I recently decided to bring my bike into the modern age and convert it from 2x10 to 1x11. The GX XG-1150 cassette was my first choice in making the move and I will definitely be buying it again. It's not the lightest cassette in the 1x pantheon but it definitely shifts well enough to keep me, and my drivetrain, happy.

I currently have the slx 10 spd cassette, can I use this instead of buying with wolf tooth 42t. And still keep my 2x?

An Affordable Alternative to XX1
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
As is with the rest of the GX groupset, this cassette makes a great affordable alternative to the sky high costs of XX1 and X01. It's definitely quite a bit heavier than the higher end cassettes, but at less than half of its price I can't complain too much. I can't perceive the difference in shifting between this and X01 and XX1. Would make a great training cassette to take the wear and tear while only leaving the XX1 cassette for race day.

no issues
I've had no issues with this cassette. I have two wheel sets and I am using this cassette on both wheel sets. Does not collect mud and dirt as easily as others I've used in the past. I'm running this on the '15 Nomad
