Force BB30 Crankset

SRAM believes in the BB30 bottom bracket standard. That's why they offer it in their top two cranksets, including this SRAM Force BB30 Crankset. How's this different than their Force GXP Crankset and how is it better? The difference is that it's designed around the BB30 bottom bracket standard which makes use of a 30mm crank spindle and larger bearings that are pressed directly into an oversized shell. You get a lighter and stiffer crank, the bearings are larger and more durable (bigger is better, remember ISIS?), and since the spindle is shorter, there is more ankle and heel clearance between your shiny shoes and your new crankarms.

The carbon fiber arms on the Force cranks are built on a minimalistic aluminum spine that's used to both align the spindle mount and pedal threads during molding and add to the durability out on the road. A carbon spider and alloy chainring bolts further reduce weight. The PowerGlide chain rings that come standard on the Force crank ensure crisp movement of the chain as you switch rings. The gates and ramps on the teeth make quick work of upshifts and downshifts, and they ensure that the sophisticated technology of the Double Tap shifter isn't wasted on a crankset that can't deliver flawless performance. The PowerGlide rings are built with SRAM's "TNT" hard-anodized finish. You'll get more mileage from these rings than any other 10-speed set out there, and thanks to the finish, your shifting and pedaling will be quieter than ever before.

The PowerGlide rings are optimized for use with the Force front derailleur -- you'll find that you can cross-chain to your heart's content when you're in the big chainring without hearing a whit of chain rub. And whether your gearing differential between chainrings is 14t or 16t, you'll get flawless shifting -- that's the one detail that distinguishes the compact Force from every other 50/34 crankset we've ever tried. It shifts as flawlessly as a 53/39 -- a rarity when it comes to compact cranks. Best of all, a SRAM compact crankset doesn't require a special compact-specific front derailleur. You use the same Force front derailleur for the 53/39 as you do for the 50/34.

The SRAM Force BB30 Crankset is available in 170mm, 172.5mm, and 175mm lengths and comes with either 53/39 or 50/34 chainring configurations. Bottom bracket is NOT included.
