Description

Why We Like The DUB Pressfit Bottom Bracket

Bottom bracket standards might as well be a four-letter word in the bike industry. Always changing, never cross-compatible, and constantly causing headaches as we fumble through adapter cups and aftermarket pieces to try to carry your crankset from bike to bike. Designers at SRAM must have been fed up with the confusion, too, which we suspect has something to do with their design of the DUB Pressfit Bottom Bracket. This bottom bracket doesn't introduce new standards when it comes to your bike's bottom bracket shell, fitting snugly into your frame just like any other pressfit bottom bracket, but where it differs is in the spindle. This new bottom bracket is designed to flawlessly fit SRAM's new DUB cranksets, with a 28.99mm spindle across the board, allowing you to upgrade your crank while future-proofing it against changing BB standards.

We're fans of SRAM's new take on bottom brackets, straying away from the never-ending dilemma of shell standard compatibility and instead looking to the crank itself to transcend one bottom bracket to another. This is achieved by using a standard inner bottom bracket bearing diameter of 28.99-millimeters for stiff power when paired with a SRAM DUB Crank, but placing the bearings in a variety of bottom bracket sleeves to pair with any current bottom bracket standard on the market. This means there's no more stressing between whether a PF30 and GXP crank will work for you — instead, you can rest assured that there's a DUB bottom bracket out there for your current bike, and your future bikes, so you can keep your dream crankset running with you for years to come.

  • Future-proof your bike with SRAM's DUB bottom bracket
  • Available for virtually any pressfit BB shell
  • Wide 28.99mm bearing diameter provides a stiffer interface
  • Stainless steel bearings are smooth-rolling and durable

Any idea if this PF30 will fit in boost stumpjumper aluminium frame? Can't find compatibility anywhere.

Hi Mike, Sorry we missed this. This may depend on year model, The current Stumpjumper utilizes a BSA bottom bracket. In the future feel free to call in, and we can go over some tech compatibility together. Our experts are here to help, call us and we will take care of you.1-888-276-7130

Best idea from SRAM

Kudos to SRAM for creating this universal BB, this is so easy to understand and the quality is excellent. I love this product, i wouldn't mind replacing BB regularly because it is priced right and easy to install. Highly recommended.

Almost perfect

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I like how SRAM has created a platform designed to accommodate the zillion different BB standards. However! BB installers be careful!!! The external dust covers on the bearings are very fragile, older style BB install tools sometimes don't fit the newer, tighter tolerances...pay especially close attention to the press-fit versions.

dub

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

only a month on but so far no creaks and runs very smooth. I expect a lot from Sram and so far the new dub bb is holding up to their standards.
